Table Assignment help

I have the seating assignments done, but I'm trying to figure out which tables to put everyone at. FI's and my family are sitting at different tables. Should I have the tables next to eachother? Or should I put FI's family table on the side of the dance floor nearest Groom side of head table and my family on the side of the dance floor nearest Bride's side?

I tend to think that they should be near one another. FI thinks that they should be on either side of the dance floor. What do you think?

Re: Table Assignment help

  • Honestly I don't think it matters either way, draw up a sketch of the room both ways and see what sits better with your vision.

  • We put my side tables together and FI's side tables together, but there is no dance floor in between them. It's really up to you. I know that if I were a guest I'd rather be near people that I know and likely haven't had much time recently with them rather than being near the "other side's" people who I will possibly never see again let alone hang out with them. Can you have it so the tables are all together but one side of the group for you and one side of the group for FI? or do some tables have to go on either side of the dancefloor?

  • Well if you can picture, our room has all the tables in the middle and the kings table (long, rectangular, where FI and I and our WP & their dates sit) running through the middle of all the tables.  We put my family on one side, FI's family on the other, and family friends & person friends at the "end" so to speak.
