what to throw?!?

Hey ladies!  I need some new ideas...

Instead of having our guests line up at the reception to tell us bye (we're planning on partying thru the night with our guests ;) we've decided to do the traditional "walk thru the guests" after our church ceremony outside of the church....

The church won't allow guests to throw rice, rose petals, or blow bubbles because of liability...so we're looking for a fun new idea for this portion!

Any creative ideas out there? Thanks in advance!!

You could get bells that people could ring as you walk through or if you both enjoy a little bit of humor and are having a small wedding then you could buy play swords for everyone that they could hold up on either side for you to go through.  Just a thought :)

I know my suggestions aren't things to throw but it sounds like the church probably wouldn't be ok with guests throwing anything if they aren't even ok with bubbles.

If you are really into sports, as your name suggests, you could have everyone throw a ball, like nerf/soft ones. They'd be big enough that someone (possibly any kids coming) could pick them all up afterwards. If you didn't want to keep them, you could probably give them to a charity afterwards.
You could also get party blower thingys like for New Years.

    Wow...not even bubbles. Geesh.

I like the bells or party blowers ideas...good luck with this decision. Let us know what you pick.

I agree with PP's. If they aren't going to let you blow bubbles, I can't imagine them letting you throw anything at all. I like the idea of something that makes noise :)

I think the party blowers are a unique idea that would work out nicely. Although I am sure you are frustrated that the church will not allow you to throw anything following the ceremony, this may be a blessing! Confetti, rice, birdseed, streamers, etc. get all over you and in your hair and it is nearly impossible to remove it all. This can be a problem when it comes to photos. Most of the time when I am with a bride that chooses to use any of these following the ceremony, she's sorry she did it! Now, leaving the reception is a different story because you are done for the day! Good luck with your decision :)

I know its been a more common thing recently but I personally love sparklers. Especially if it will be dusk. That's what we're doing. :)
