  • I made burlap squares for my centerpieces....I only have 12, but I would be willing to sell them to you after Oct.  I will plan on selling them for pretty much what I paid for them....but really burlap is cheap!  If you just want to do them on your own, you can find burlap for $3-4/yd at Joannes and use coupons as an added bonus.  I think I made my 12 large (2x2) ones, 7 (1x1) for cocktail tables, our candy table banner, ring bearer pillow & burlap sashes for vases for probably $25 worth of burlap.  If you are crafty at all you can do it!!!!

  • Thanks for the ideas!
We didn't have a JOANNES here- but one is opening here in a month or so, I am really excited to check it out!
  • Hobby lobby also has burlap. I just bought an entire bolt (20 yds) for 50 bucks :)

  • No problem!  Also, check Craigslist for wedding decor.  I bought all of my vases for $100, which would have been probably $250 or more worth of vases for the first bride.  Your budget is small, but I'm sure you could find simple vases or mason jars on there, second hand and cheaper!

  • I bought a bolt of burlap at JoAnne.com and found a 40% off coupon code. The bolt is 48 inches across. I cut it in thirds down the entire bolt and managed to make over 32 table runners for 68 bucks! Whoop!!! ;)
  • A friend of mine went to a "hippie" wedding as she called it.  Their centerpieces were flowers, made of yarn.  Save up some Michaels or Hobby Lobby coupons and look around online for DIY yarn flowers.  Real ones are going to cost you much more than your budget.

I have been collecting my Mason jars over the last few months, some from Craigs List and some from Goodwill, and my FI brought some home from a garage sale he stopped at on his way home :) So we have about 40... LOL. So my budget is after those :)

I did get an email yesterday from a local flower farm, and she is willing to sell me ( what she sells at cost to florist)  hydrangeas, and Peonies, So about 2.00 each,  I think I can use one big bloom in each jar! How many jars do you think per 8ft table?

I did find an DIY burlap flower turorial on Pinterest, I think I will try to "fill up" my jars with and make button/baby's breath boutonnierrs sp?.. anyone do this?

I will check out JoAnne.com- Where did you find your coupon? Do they do there's like Michaels?

  • did you ever think about putting pictures in the mason jars as centerpieces thats what i am using and im putting some the the diamond beads at the bottom! the pics last a long time in the water i have been testing one for about a month and its still good!
