Venue -- PLEASE HELP!

I am looking for a venue for both ceremony and reception. I live in the Clear Lake area, but am willing to go to Houston or Galveston. Our budget is 2500 (low, I know) for the entire thing (decorations, food, venue, etc...) Any recommendations? I am so overwhelmed and I just started looking. I keep begging my fiance to just elope, but he doesn't like that idea... so... PLEASE HELP ME!!
Sincerely,
Desperate Bride-to-be

First off, plan on a Friday or Sunday wedding. A Saturday wedding would be hard if not impossible to pull off. Also, how many people?

Some low cost ceremony places are the AD Bruce Religion Center or any church that you belong to.

Some low cost reception places include the Heights Firestation, Brady's Landing, and in Galveston - The Lyceum
And now we are as one

You could hold the ceremony at Helen's Garden in League City, depending on how many people you are inviting. You may try a smaller reception at like a restaurant in a party room or something like that. Perhaps somewhere in Kemah? South Shore Harbor Resort may be worth looking into as well...

A good reception place is the Italian Cultural Center (http://www.iccchouston.com/) in Houston, Fridays and Sundays are cheapest, and depending on what time of the year it is the rate goes down during certain seasons.

    @ Aylerz  (or anyone else)

Have any info on the Milford house?  Any idea of rental rates?  I'm assuming it's all DIY food/decor/tables?

Just curious to any info before I call them.

I got married at The Centurion Palace in League City. It is an all inclusive (including food, drinks, cake). I know the Saturday evening packages are more expensive but I believe if you do a Friday night, Saturday Day, or Sunday day it is much cheaper. Also, a beautiful place! The ceremony is outside in an open air, roman style setting with beautiful flowers and the reception is inside. Also, they let you make a pyament plan so if you could increase your budget a bit with a payment plan it may be a good option for you! Also, the tables, linens, chairs, and centerpieces are provided. Best of luck :)
