Huge Check!

I have literally spent the last 4 hours tackling the invitation (and all the inserts) wording, format and design! I am emailing it to DF and he will put it all into Photoshop (I used word), and then we will place everything into it's exact size of paper and add the design detail we chose. I am so excited!! DF is going to print them up at work tomorrow so we'll be able to cut them out and see how everything looks with our mock up invitation!

In November I want to order all of our paper and then start the process putting them together and get everything printed. Getting all the wording and the right fonts, was the biggest hurdle.

I finally feel like this coming together!

  • Congrats on the check. You girls who have started on the invites has made me start on mine - still dont even know what wording I want to do, let alone design.
Share some mock-ups when its all printed :)

</div><div>I had no idea about the wording!  We're getting ours done through an invite shop and the people there helped us word it.

  • Awesome! Great job on the DIY! I didn't even try to do it myself. I found a graphic designer who designed a custom monogram skeleton key, which is the focal point of the invitation. The background has vines and flowers since it's a enchanted forest kind of theme. I loooove them. Printing and envelopes are costing an arm and a leg though. Sometimes buying a package is less expensive than putting it all together yourself. Not always of course, but it is in my case.

  • My FSIL is going to be designing our invites.  I'm hoping to get together with her in the next month or so to pick out paper and stuff.

We've looked at the wording.  Since my dad is deceased, but we still want his name involved, we've been playing around with how to present it.  I think it'll be something like my name, daughter of, and his name, son of, cordially invite you....

Actually, this is where we'll save money. Paper is going to be $142, printing will be less that $50 with a local printer and stamps will be around $100. So, less than $300 dollars for 90 invites. We are doing pocket folds with inserts as well. We were going to try to order invites from Vistaprint but we couldn't find a design we really liked and we ended up wanting the pocket folds anyway. I am very pleased that our invites, inserts, pocket folds and envelopes PLUS stamps will be under $300. AND it's exactly what we want. :-D
