Ladies I need your help.

FI and I are hosting the wedding, please help me figure out the wording of my invitation.  Please feel free to make any suggestions.  We want pocketfold evelopes, so I was thinking of having an insert card with the reception information. is that a good idea or should i list both on the same card like sample #1? • Love the first one. By the way, I missed the line where you said it was from a sample and I was like uhhh it says 2014 LOL
  • I really like the second one. But one sounds good too!!

  • Great job with the wording of all 3! I was going to add too that the wording of the invitations kind of depends on who's paying for the wedding. For example FI and I chose wording closer to #3 because we are paying for the wedding.

  • Since you and your FI are hosting, I would pick #1.

  • We did:

    Together with their parents
    Bride's name &
    Groom's Name
invite you to celebrate their marriage

    Date
    Location
    Reception to follow

We are paying for the wedding but my parents bought my dress and his parents gave us money for the honeymoon, so we decided to include them. But we are not having a church wedding, and I think it's nice to have a little bit more formal language for a church ceremony. So I vote #1.

    Agreed.

I would say #1 if you are having a religious ceremony. That's the only time you use "request the honour of your presence".

ETA: If you're not having a religious ceremony, I would still pick #1 but change it to "the pleasure of your company is requested".

  • They are all good choices. FI and I are paying for our wedding too. We used "together with their families" I just liked that wording best though, any of those are great.
  • I chose number 2. When I was thinking of the wording for ours, my mom didn't like the fact that the parents names where not on it. So I had to add their names to it. Even though your parents are not hosting the wedding, I think it might be more appropriate to mention that they are supporting you two.
