Jamie (bellasposa223)

Hey -
I tried sending you a pvt message 2x but for some ungodly reason it won't go thru so I hope you don't mind me asking you this question on a post?

You've mentioned several times how you lost 70lbs before your wedding...First off YAY for you! That is awesome....what program were you on to lose the weight? Also how in the world did you stay focused on a diet w/ the stress of planning a wedding?  Any advice for me is greatly and deeply needed and appreciated :-)

Thanks so much -
Lee

Lee- I absolutely don't mind. I mention it a lot because I'm extremely proud of myself; never thought I'd get here. I hope no one minds. My method definetley isn't for everyone. I tried everything in the book to lose weight and the more I tried, the bigger I got. I had lap band surgery in September. A lot of people don't know what it is, so I don't want to leave you in the dark. It's a device that goes around my stomach and my stomach is very small so I eat a lot less. It's not all glamorous, but it's very worth it. I really don't know where I'd be without it. I'm 100% healthier and it really has saved my life. A lot of people say it's an easy way out, and on day to day basis I can tell you that it is not. I have about 50lbs to go to be at my goal weight.  I'm going to put a picture here for you so you can have a visual. Again, I know this may be not what you're looking for but if it's something you're interested in just let me know if you have questions, I will gladly answer.

    Hey there -
This is me standing up an applauding you. Awesome!

I'm all for whatever works for any individual that's what you do!

I've read up on the lap band before. I opted to go on a strict diet. So strict hence not a lot of people agree w/  me either....but I really didn't care and continue not to care. It's what works for me. I was getting a little down on myself because since March I've been sort of off the diet wagon. It certainly didn't help going dress shopping and I felt lke OMG I'm never going to find anything I like.  I needed to feel pretty in what I try on now so I know I can only look better by my wedding. Well thankfully I went off by myself yesterday and tried one more bridal boutique and the first dress I tried on was the one! If I had to wear the gown this weekend I know I would feel pretty in it. It's what I needed to catapult my brain into saying ok now game on! So I asked the woman at the boutique could I come in in exactly 2 mos and get measured and then she can order my dress? She thought that was a good idea. So I'll see what I can do in 2 mos. I know I'm cutting it short since I was toldl it'll take 4-6mos to get the dress in but I asked if I could pay for a rush order so that's the option I'll end up going for. YAY

So do you go for monthly check ups? I assume so. How much do you end up losing per week having had the lap band surgery?  Again good for you for taking charge of your life and your health! There's no better feeling. Right?!

Just keep up what you're doing, I know how hard it can be. I did it for most of my life as a teen and in college (and college for me it was harder with the sh!tty food they have). I gave up but it was for the better at that point. You definetly have more will power than I do. I do go for monthly check-ups, I went last week down to the city to go. I wanted my Dr. record my weight before I leave on the HM this weekend lol. I go back on August 11th and I'll be getting a fill because I've plateaued with this one as I've had it about 4 months, which is fine, I'm happy to be where I am. You're supossed to lose about 1-2lbs per week. You're right, there is no better feeling, I have a life again and I'm different than I was before the weight loss. It's wonderful, not gonna lie =)
