Researching Venues

Has anyone used the 1840's Ballroom or City Lights? I love the space but am concerned about catering costs as the city lights floor doesn't have its own kitchen. They have a list of approved caterers and before I started emailing everyone on the list, I thought I'd ask you all for suggestions.

I've never heard of City Lights - but...this sounds a lot like the World Trade Center at the Harbor.  I went to an event there (about 7 years ago or so), and since they don't have a kitchen, the caterer had to have their ovens and whatnot in the hallway or right outside the room (the guests didn't see any of this).  But because the ovens were so close, the room became unbearably hot.  Everyone was dripping wet at the end of the night - usually a good sign of dancing, and it was a fun time, but the room was so hot.

I have no idea how these venues work or anything, but this might be something to consider.

City Lights is one of the rooms in the 1840's Ballroom Building. As I'm planning on late fall or winter, I'm not really worried about the heat so much as the extra cost.
