Invitation Basics

Hi ladies, it seems like there are tons of options for invitations. Is there any basic information that I should know before I decide to do them myself or purchase them?

Re: Invitation Basics

  • I would check websites like vistaprint, minted, 123print.  Those are usually pretty affordable.  I got mine from 123print and the quality of them is great.  For $150 I got 150 invitations with envelopes and response cards with envelopes, 250 and 500 return labels, and 500 Thank You postcards.  Definitely worth it!
  • We used Magnetstreet & I loved them! It was really user friendly & there were so many options. But also check the above listed options.

  • etsy has options that will be more reasonably price than local shops.  There are also local sellers on etsy and other websites that can meet you in person and custom design.  Weddingbee also has entries with other sharing their DIY cost breakdowns which is very helpful to give you perspective.

For us, the work of putting the invitations together and cutting everthing was too daunting (I'm not crafty at all!).  We are going with a local graphic designer.  GL!
  • Am just about to post a vendor RAVE.  I used Michelle @ graphic boutique (mygraphicboutique.com) to design baby shower invitations for my sister.  They came out amazing! She really listened to what I wanted (my sister didnt want them to be too "baby" lol).

Already started drafting my Save the Dates  - she is blowing my mind! :) I had a simple idea and a sketch of what I wanted and she really translated it to an actual STD.  The best part is how prompt she replies to my emails, phone calls.

    Highliy reccommend her!
