  • Our food comes with our venue, so we've already had a good look at the full catering menu.  Our limitations are that we need vegetarian options and we cannot have beef for religious reasons. 

    Cocktail hour:
    5 passed hors d'oeuvres- it's crazy how many different options we have to choose from.  I have no idea how we're going to make up our mind!
    Sushi station- we get 5 different types of sushi
    Mashed potato bar- comes with topping options of crisp pancetta, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, grilled vegetables, gorgonzola, and chedder

    Dinner:
    One of our top reasons for choosing this venue was that they offered food stations with good non-beef options.  Here's what I think we're choosing:
    Soup and Salad station- clam chowder and boston bib salad
    Pasta Station- choice of three pastas (I have no idea which ones yet!) served with bread, oils, and cheeses.  All the pastas will be vegetarian.
    Carving station- Roasted Leg of Lamb with Minted Aioli served with yukon gold potatoes and green beans with roasted cashews
    Grilling station- Swordfish with mango papaya chutney served with lemon scented wild rice and grilled vegetables

    Dessert:
    Bananas Foster
    Cake station- triple chocolate truffle cake, chocolate chip cheesecake, carrot cake, chaos pie with snickers bar, chocolate raspberry chambord torte, and pecan pie

    Coffee and tea with a flambeed coffee station

  • We are having a fajita and enchilada bar, it will have chicken and beef fajita toppings, and chicken or cheese enchiladas, then will come with peppers, onions, beans, rice, tomatoes, salsas, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, sour cream so we can build how we like it.  It comes with chips and salsa for guests to enjoy before dinner, and cookies as the extra dessert to go with the cupcakes.  We are serving tea, lemonade, our favorite beer, and then at least blue margaritas, we are debating adding strawberry daquaris as well.

    cocktail hour: signature cheeses with butler passed hor dourves 5 options we haven't chosen them lol

    main dish: chicken, fish or steak we haven't done a taste testing an our place does it 1 month before the wedding (but I heard our venue has amazing brunch & dinner menu I'm hoping holds up)

  • Hahaha! Its ok melb, the food comes with my venue too although we have to pick from three packages and we're thinking we might go with the middle package.  It will be a plated dinner so we'll have to choose the dishes we want to offer (not sure yet).  Each package offers different food and we think the middle one fits best with our tastes...its four course with 5 passed hor d'oeuvres plus our wedding cake.

  • our venue provides the food. we have a tasting in may, so that when we'll start planning the food. i do want late night snacks though :)
  • Lol Melb... I need some inspiration... We have had three different menu ideas and we cant seem to settle on 1 of them. Once we get this check off our list I am going to be the happiest girl ever... Hopefully we will have this check off our list by the end of the month...(fingers crossed)

  • Our venue includes food. Our tasting is in May. We've looked over the menu and have a good idea of what we'll be having, but will obviously wait for the tasting before we make any final decisions. I'm so happy to see that so many of you already have so much of your weddings planned out!
  • During cocktail hour there will be a couple stations set up.  

    Since we're having an endless cocktail reception we'll select 20 different hors d'oeuvres to be passed throughout the night.  We had a tasting before we signed the contract & everything was delicious, it'll be hard to narrow it down when the time comes! 

    The only things we definitely know we're having are fresh baked cookies served with a small glass of milk & a sundae bar.  



  • So we are having a casual wedding so we started to think what do we want to have that you don't see at every wedding... Also at our venue we can only serve beer, wine, and champagne so trying to find food that go with all of the above... We have the cocktail hour pretty much figured out whoever we go with I am sure cocktail hour will be easy to piece to together

    Menu 1: BBQ (think we are leaning more towards this...)

    So we are planning on offer 3 to 4 different meats...
    • Brisket
    • Pulled Pork
    • Pulled Chicken/ or grilled boneless chicken
    • We may offer grilled shrimp skewers not 100% sure..

    Sides:

    • Mac and Cheese
    • Southern Style green beans
    • Mashed potato bar
    • Baked Beans
    • Coleslaw
    • We are thinking about having grilled shucks of corn...
    Then of course we will have rolls and cornbread along with multiple types of BBQ sauce for guest to choose from. Along with a salad options too...

    Menu 2:

    We thought about having a cocktail type reception... but we decided to pass on that type of reception...

    Menu 3: Pasta...

    FI thought we could do multiple types of pasta... but I felt that our guest along with us would feel too heavy after eating pasta... Also I was thinking about it and pasta does not sound too appetizing with beer...

    We've had our menu picked out for awhile now. It's a LOT of food. We considered cutting down the cocktail hour menu but it won't change the price so we decided to keep it. We haven't decided if we will do the cake immediately after the main course or during the sweet table. Ideas on that?

  • Our food comes with the venu. The menu for the food is like 6 pages long so we are still trying to figure it out. I don't have to have final decisions in until Feb. 2013.

    SRRL: I think you should have the cake with the sweet table.  You have so much food people need time to digest!

    FLGator: The BBQ menu sounds yummy!  Shrimp would be nice, but I'm a huge seafood fan :)

  • We have a health contious group: His father has diabeties and my mom is allergic to shell fish...our wedding Idea is pretty informal, and fun...Was even thinking of having a Slushie/margarita bar but besides the fact that I would like it colorful and unique IDK what else to do
