DJ/Photographer Recommendations?

I have been looking at The Pros for my DJ and photographer. Has anyone heard anything at all about them? They are so much less expensive than every other place so I can't tell if its a great deal or bad service. Help!

you get what you pay for....

Try to book a company that is either a DJ or a photog, not both.

I rec DJs available, they are very good. My photog is sharyn frenkel... she is talented and not that expensive.

We had VERY briefly looked into The Pros but after reading negative review upon negative review and NEVER finding a positive one we ruled them out pretty quickly. We went with Vendors in Staten Island (where we live) for our wedding which was in South Jersey (The Merion) and worked out great deals with both. Our photographer was $900 for two photographers full day, a DVD of edited images and a CD of ever picture taken that day plus my Bridal Party LOVED them because they were great to work with. Our DJ was a bit expensive but it was the one area we were willing to spend more on... it was $2800 but it included an MC, a DJ, two light towers, a plasma screen, all the techs needed to run that stuff and a photographer through the evening who put pictures up on the screen and then sent us a disk of all the pics the week after the wedding. Let me know if you'd like any of their info... I know the DJ has a Jersey office, I'm just not sure where.

We didnt have a DJ we had a live band, but i can recommend our photographer Paul Dempsey!!  He was amazing!! So easy to work with and got fantastic shots!!!!

I dont know if i would have picked a dj and photographer in one package...that may have weirded me out about...

    Good Luck

Run away from the Pros, at least for photography.  My cousin used them last year and she's very unhappy.  The photographer was extremely rude.  And the pictures were terrible.  I recommend you looking at Center Stage for DJs (www.centerstageent.com) and David Humphreys for photography (www.dhumphreys.com). Both are excellent and reasonably priced.  We're on a tight budget and they both worked with us on a good price.

I work in the wedding industry and see DJs/photographers all the time. My favorites (so much that we booked them for our wedding and he was amazing!) is Enchanted Celebrations. www.enchantedcelebrations.com and tell Alex that Leslie Silva referred you. He does free in-home consultations. He'll be at the Bliss Bridal expo (www.blissbridalexpo.com) so you can meet him in person there

We use Perfect Day Photography and Dinardo Brothers as our DJ.  We love John from the Dinardo Brothers as our DJ.  He did an awesome job and made our wedding amazing.

I really had high hopes for Perfect Day Photography.  We specifically negotiated to have Eric, the owner shoot our wedding.  I should start by saying I love the photos we got.  I really do; however, I was less than impressed with Eric on the day of my wedding.  He was rude.  He did numerous unprofessional things during the course of the day and overall he left a bad taste in my mouth.  The women working for him are amazing and really have been great getting my prints, albums, etc. ordered.  I disliked working him with him so much that even though a photo session of our first baby is free I will most likely not be using them.

aprovencher you are not alone. I was in a  wedding and Eric was the photographer. He was so rude and uninspiring. He just went through the motions. I can tell you that I now see why paying for a higher end photographer makes all the difference in the world. I know some people are on a budget but Eric is not worth the price at all. He was such a creep.

Well while he wasn't my favorite photographer to work with I do think the photos came out beautifully so I won't complain about the the work that was produced.  His cost wasn't what made me decide to chose him but the photographs he has taken.  I just think he needs to work on professionalism and a concept of developing a business self.  We love almost all of our wedding photographs and engagement photos so again its not the quality of work but his personality I didn't like.  I don't think paying more was necessary.
