Workout Accountability: Wednesday edition

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday I got a walk in with my co-workers and managed to get 10,000 steps for the day...but that's about it.

Food was so-so.

I'm hoping today will be better. I'm still feeling exhausted from the wedding.

Now you go!

Re: Workout Accountability: Wednesday edition

  • Yesterday was pretty lazy for me, due to all the swimming I did on Monday and we had game night so were up super late. Got back to bootcamp this morning though for chest and abs then started week 2 of C25K.
  • Morning! This may be my last post for a while as I am getting down to the wire here! This morning I ran 4 miles and did a back and abs work out. I am hoping I can get work outs in tomorrow morning and Friday morning but I feel like it won't be possible the morning of the wedding. Did anyone else work out the morning of their wedding? FI surprised me and bought me an hour long message, I am going tomorrow I can't wait!!!

  • @Maribeth - I really wanted to work out, but in reality I was so exhausted and sore from setting up the venue the day before that it just wasn't going to happen. I would say you should focus on relaxing and not getting a workout in - the day will be busy and stressful and you'll get more activity than you might think :) Have a wonderful wedding!

  • I want to work out soooo bad but I know you're right. I know I will be exhausted and running around already as it is. And I would probably have to get up at 5am still lol. Thank you for the advice!! And post some pics please!!! I wanna see!!!! :)

  • Maribeth, I hope you have a wonderful wedding weekend!

I was planning on starting up again for the first time in awhile with working out (I think at this point it's been a month... close to 2 weeks post op) so I'm chomping at the bit.  I'm going to have to delay working out another day since I have the dress issue to figure out.  I'm going back to my parents tonight after work to hopefully solve the problems with a few odds and ends I bought last night.
  • Morning everyone!

I'm so jealous of you guys now being so close to your weddings or already married! I have so long to go... wah! But it's good too, because this semester looks like it's gonna be a doozy!

Made yummy chicken enchilada stuffed zucchini boats last night for supper (Skinnytaste), they were devine. Then we had a slice of Berry Maniloaf (Looneyspoons).. that was delicious too! It's a lemon raspberry loaf from the ladies that do Eat, Shrink & Be Merry! So good, and feels so bad - but it isn't! Didn't formally exercise, but did a crapload of walking around since it was orientation yesterday. Feel like it all evened out, especially since I kept my eating on track!

Today, we'll see how actual classes go and then if I feel up to exercising I'll go on the eliptical when I get home. Have a good day!

  • Well, I've been busy for awhile and totally fell off the wagon. I went on vacation for a week at the beach with just the goal of maintaining rather then losing and actually did OK. Last weekend was another weekend of bad eating though because it was a friends' bachelorette. The good news is that even with only 5lbs lost, my clothes are fitting noticably better. Not fitting into my goal pants yet, but my everyday clothes are no longer super tight.

My problem this week is that I came home from all of the travel and can't seem to get back into my groove. This is partly because I am having some stomach problems and trying some natural remedies, but this adds about 120 extra calories to my day from juice. I also have been not doing well at packing lunches or avoiding the office baked goods. Dinner last night was the Chinese Buffet, which is probably one of the reasons I put on weight in the first place, but we were running to meet with our photographer and sign a contract.

I made a real effort last night to pack a salad for lunch today, but succombed to a few bites of homemade scone. Dinner is going to be on-the-run again because I am having reflexology tonight and then running to meet with a potential DJ. Hopefully I can make a better choice than I have been.

I am aiming for 1200 calories/day (sometimes 1300 with exercise because I simply have very little time for it), and am struggling with these extra 120 for the juice drink. When you have so little calories to begin with, they make a difference! However, it's helping my stomach issues, so I don't want to stop drinking it.

Tomorrow is my first time to try on wedding gowns so I am hoping for some motivation there. This weekend is a full day and a half of canoing, so I am hoping that will help as well.

You should be eating back the calories you burn from exercise other you are going into starvation mode. If you're only burning roughly 100 calories from the exercise you're doing then 1300 is fine, but if you're burning more like 400 calories you should be eating more 1600 calories on the days you work out. Make sense?

I'm going to start taking part in this daily accountability thang. It'll keep me motivated I'm sure.

Well, yesterday I went to the gym and weighed myself (I'm only going to do this once a week to keep myself motivated) and I lost 4 pounds in a week. I started up the gym last week and FI and I are going daily.

I'm heading to the gym after work as well.
    Oh...started a 7 day soup diet/cleanse (I posted a thread separately about it) today.
First day went well. Had my soup and lots of fruits. FI is not too excited about tomorrow since it's veggy and soup day. lol

  • Yep. I only burn about 100 calories from added exercise because I just don't have time to join a gym or run or anything major. Once in awhile I go kayaking and then I get alot more calories, but on the average weekday I am lucky to get in a walk at lunch or some sit-ups at home.

  • Yay wedding week Maribeth!

Yes Sarah, walking around campus burns calories too! A busy semester sounds like it could be both fun and stressful.

I managed to get up yesterday and do my cardio, but didn't fare so well this morning. I haven't been sleeping really well lately - lots on my mind - and I really couldn't make myself get up and do it when I'd only had about three hours of sleep. I needed that hour more for sleep today. But with that said, I do plan to do it after supper - cardio and a toning workout.

The only good thing about the new job is that the school has a weight room. I just have to talk to the PE teacher to see how I can get a key. It's open for students at certain times, but teachers can access it whenever. So maybe that'll help.

Still feeling blah. Hoping it passes quickly. I usually struggle with SAD, and living up north the days get shorter pretty quickly. The up side is that they get REALLY long too, when the spring comes.

  • Can I just start by saying I LOVE this accountability thread!  I had my first day of school today and FI had to work late.  I was working out (Bridalicious Bootcamp) when he came home.  I rushed into the kitchen when was done, kissed him and walked out.  He asked where I was going and I said I had to write on the accountability thread!  You girls are all just so supportive!

Happy Wedding Weekend Maribeth!  You look incredible and have worked so hard!

Oh!  Got my first response card back today!

  • Forgot to mention - I'm having an incredibly hungry day.  I've kept within my calories (which I'm happy about and usually do) but I feel like I just can't stop eating.  I've tried to curb it with water and exercise, but I just can't seem to feel satisfied today.  Could just be one of those days but there has been a big change in my diet.  I have gone completely gluten free.  Anyone else go GF and have this feeling?
