  FI and I love to travel. So we're thinking of doing a map theme with all the places we've been for the escort cards.
  
  For favors, we're doing big black & white cookies since those are our wedding colors and ties in with our "opposites attract" theme.

  My favors will be these shots glasses.  I will have them filled with sand from the beach wedding and the escort cards will be stuck in the sand with lollipop sticks something like in the 2nd picture.  My programs put onto raffia fans will also double as favors

  Our favors are iced sugar cookies.  There will be starfish, sand dollars, shells, and sea horse.  Each guest will get 1.

  Our escort cards will all be different.  They will alternate alphabetically between light and dark pink cards and the pictures on top will represent the entree that the guest has selected.  A sand dollar for beef, a scallop for chicken, and a starfish for snapper.

  No, it directs people to a table. Imagine this - someone gets their seat first and takes a sip of water only to realize that his/her friends are at another table. What does he/she do? Gets up and leaves their slobber in the glass of water! Ok, maybe that's extreme - especially for a smaller wedding - but it happens!

  My FI is a chef so he will be making a BBQ rub that will be placed in 4 oz spice jars.  He might make two different kinds of rubs and each guest will get 1.  If we decide to go escort cards, these favors will be made as escort cards. We are going to put on the tag something like "Today we’ve blended our family with the perfect recipe."  I will be making our tags and it will have colored ribbon with our wedding colors.

  Not sure about favors yet......might do a candy bar, but I also like Mego's iced cookie idea. 
  
  Our escort cards are going to be tied to starfish that are standing in a tray of sand. 
  Like below, only with green or purple ribbon.

  For our favors, we want to make a donation to a nonprofit charity that is meaningful to my FI and I. The problem is, we have 3 different charities we like! The solution... let the guests vote where their donations goes! After they use their escort cards to find their table, they can place it in 1 of 3 glass bowls that represent the 3 different charities we'll be donating to. Each bowl will have a little information about each charity. After the wedding, we'll make donations in accordance to the votes our guests make.
  
  Sounds a little complicated when I explain it this way, but we're hoping it will fun and interactive for our guests.
  
  So what do you think???

  ktwish:   i really like that idea!  I have thought about doing the donation to the charity (I have two that mean a lot to us) but was undecided.  You may have swayed me to do something similar!!
