I went to a wedding this weekend and was shocked. I have been friends with this girl for awhile through my sister so we have talked about wedding plans and stuff like that a lot. I walked into her reception and thought that I walked into mine except in different colors.

Now I know it's almost a year until mine and no one that was at hers will be at mine but it totally weirded me out because she didn't ever mention any of these things. Her centerpieces were a lot like the ones I am using, she did a wish tree instead of a guest book and her father daughter dance was the song that I planned to use.

Not a huge deal and I know that I sound whiney right now but she will be that person that is like oh I had that first and that first and that first. Just weird!

On a positive note I bought my cake topper and bubbles that I wanted this weekend!

    I wouldn't worry about it too much, but I would be a little peeved if I were you. Like you said, you won't really have any guests in common so it's not like anyone would really notice except you and your sister.

    We went to a wedding this weekend also that contained elements we want to have at ours. FI and the groom talked a lot of the receptions at work and they decided to use some of our ideas.

    I'd be a little annoyed.  With my FSIL's wedding being 6 months before ours, I'm very careful to not say anything about our wedding to hers because I don't want to seem like I copied stuff from her wedding.  Childish, I know, but it would bother me.

    That would bother me too honestly... I have now learned to not talk anything wedding related until I get home or I am on the knot... Other than that there is no wedding discussions going on what so ever.

    I have a friend who is getting married two weeks after me and we have a lot of similarities. I think between what trendy right now (gray, vintage, peacock, wine-inspired) it's not hard to have similarities especially with things like pinterest. I'm not concerned if things look similar because they will be such different events. Every detail makes a difference but at the end of the day all that matters is you and your love!
