Another random poll (Food related)

What weird food aversions do you have? As in, what food do you not eat, that other people think you are weird for not eating.

For me, it would be ketchup, or red sauces in general. I just don't like them much, it's not like it makes me gag. If it is served at someone else's home/party, I do eat it.

Olives and eggplant. Otherwise I'll eat pretty much anything.

    All of it.

I'm a super-picky super-taster with texture issues, so honestly, I don't eat a lot of stuff. Most condiments, spicy foods, a lot of vegetables, fish, shellfish. As I've become an adult, I've tried more stuff, and I still don't like a lot of it, but I don't expect people hosting me to maneuver around my aversions or anything.

ETA: my weirdest one is blue food. Unless it's blue naturally - blueberries, say - I just can't eat it. That strange, unnatural electric blue color is just completely off-putting to me. I give all my blue M&Ms to Bacon.

Cheese.  I hate cheese.  And most pasta other than spaghetti.  I'm a bad italian.

    Cilantro and meat on bones.

Oh, and crunchy foods, mainly because hearing people crunch on food grosses me out.

Peppers.  I will cook with them, but I won't eat them.

Cilantro is genetic. You either think it tastes fine, or it tastes like soap or tinfoil. Seriously.

My family are soapy tinfoil people.

Zilla, I should add organ meets to mine also. Now-ex-step-monster used to cook liver when we were kids. I remember one Sunday we called our Mom and asked her to arrange to pick us up before supper. Luckily, Mom hates it too :)

Bmom, yes, if we are invited for dinner or to an event (as an adult :) and that's what's served, I don't say anything about the red-sauce aversion. As a matter of fact, we're invited for a thing on Sunday where the meal is lasagna, salad, dessert, etc.

However, I would try to secretly push around organ meats on the plate or something. That's better than puking at their dinner table. EW!

Nothing.  Radishes, though I don't think it's weird.

I do a lot of plate-pushing of tiny portions.

I just mention it because I know a lot of people see "picky" and think "you're rude and you let everyone know it".

Organ meats, cilantro, tomatoes (but I like red sauces and salsa), oatmeals, mooshy bananas (I like them kinda hard).... I'm a textural eater. H doesn't get it at all.

I always feel bad aout my cheese aversion - because people add it to EVERYTHING.  So it always appears as though I'm extremely picky, but it's just one common food that I can't tolerate.

cauliflower, turnips, organ meats, a lot of fish (but not all - I like clean fillets and sushi but don't let me see bones or skin)

Raw onions. I'll eat them fried or sauteed, but the texture of raw grosses me out.
Blue cheese, garbanzo and kidney beans, and olives are on my Avoid list. You will never see those things on any salad of mine.

Oh, I forgot beans. I hate beans and H loves them. He's always trying new bean recipes and trying to get me to taste them. It drives me nuts. I eat EVERYTHING except for 3 commonly disliked itemes. Stop trying to feed me bean soup and baba ganoush.

Well I don't eat meat, but that's not necessarily an aversion. I do occasionally eat fish though. Nothing fishy or with bones or anything.

Mayo I will not eat. Or tuna fish. Or potato salad, macaroni salad, any of that crap.

Other than that, there's not too much I won't eat. I'm always up for trying something new.
