Band Suggestions?

Hi there,

I'm new to the board so sorry if this has already been posted! Can anyone suggest bands that are around the $5,000 mark or under? I know this depends largely on how many people you have in the band but to be honest I don't know what the difference would be between 5 and 10 people so I'm struggling with this one!

Also has anyone ever heard of a band that plays a CD or playlist at the last hour of the wedding? I love the idea of live music and think it will be a great addition to the reception but I also want to hear my favorite songs (as they actually sound) towards the end of the night. HELP!!

I hired the Jimmy Cole Band for my reception, and people LOVED it. They were much under your pricing, too (they charge per person-- we had a 5 person band for the reception). We paid 1250 for 5 hours. They were really, truly, awesome. My DH and parents were a little worried because they're not a wedding band, per se. But I heard them in a jazz club and loved them, so I went with it. Everyone at the wedding was dancing the whole entire time. Plus, they would play an iPod or whatever we wanted if we asked. You might want to check them out (they have  a website, you can go to one of their gigs maybe and see if you like them).

I also wanted a band, but didn't want to pay too much, since I wanted a string quarted for the reception as well. Since my entire music budget was 5K, like yours, I ended up with 2 bands at the 1250-1400 range, and ended up under budget.
