Honeymoon Beach and City in America

Hi everyone,

Really need your help on planning my Honeymoon for September 2013.  We want to go somewhere nice and hot in America.  I would really like to stay in a hotel that is on the beach. We want to be able to walk from the hotel also to bars and other restaurants.  We would like to stay for 7 nights and then head to Vegas for four nights.  My Fiance isn't to found of long haul flights, so if we could get somewhere that is only 2-3 hours from Vegas it would be great.

I would really appreciate your help, i am starting to stress out and I think that we won't get the Honeymoon we want.

Thanks again.
Shiv

  • You could go to Texas.  I imagine it'll still be hot in September.  Dh and I went to Corpus Christi this summer for my cousin's wedding and stayed at the Omni which is right on the beach.  If you wanted a city as well you could then drive or fly to Austin or San Antonio.  No need to go to vegas unless you really want to.
  • Go to San Diego!  I love love love San Diego, there is so much great stuff to do and it's at least a little closer to Las Vegas (or you could do Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, etc).
  • We just recently took a trip to South Padre Island, and I love it down there. I would recommend that much more over Corpus Christi (cleaner, better beaches, better restaurants).
We stayed at the Omni Pearl, and we ate at so many good restaurants. PM me if you want more details, as my family goes down there a LOT.

<div>SoCal is great, but the water is COLD and if I want a beachy vacation, I think more of the gulf than the Pacific. It can also get really cold at night (and OP said she wanted somewhere hot).</div>
  • consider miami or other south florida location like one of the keys. no idea how long the flight is but you can easily break it up into 2 flights if you need to.
also puerto rico and/or the USVI where you dont need a passport. not much further than florida.
