Anyone know of any places in the FQ where I might be able to get a king cake in late December?

    Well....first I'm gonna tsk-tsk you because we usually only eat king cake during Carnival (Mardi Gras) season, which is approx Jan thru March-ish, depending on when Fat Tuesday falls.  It's *slightly* sacriligeous to do otherwise, but I'll let you slide this time Wink.

    Having said that, I think Haydel's would probably do one for you: http://www.haydelbakery.com/ .  They are not in the Quarter though - in fact I can't really think of anywhere in the Quarter *specifically* which does king cakes.  But they are close-ish, and will probably deliver for you (call them to make sure).
