Engraving your FI's ring?

To those of you who are having/have had your groom's ring engraved, where did you have this done?  How long did it take?

    Ramsey's. I think it took about 2 weeks but we gave them both of our wedding bands to do, so if they had just one it may have taken less time.

    We purchased at Ramsey's, but I live in Hammond. I had his ring engraved as a surprise, so I took it to a local jeweler. It only took 5 days, max.

    I had my engagement ring engraved at Aucoin Hart. I think they are amazing and surprisingly inexpensive.

    I took my guy's ring to one of those engraving kiosks at the Lakeside Mall. It took 10 minutes.

    I'm going to get FI's ring engraved at Pierre's for Diamonds. He is totally awesome and has done fantastic and custom work for my family for years.

    Dumb question but, what do you have it engraved with?  The date?  You initials?

    You can engrave it with whatever you want.  It can be the date, his name/initials, your name/initials, a message, etc.

    We have a favorite song that will be sung at our ceremony.  I had the ring engraved with a line from the song, and also our wedding date.  I just had our jeweler do it, but it sounds like there are plenty of other options too!

    We're doing everything at Zales--engagement ring, wedding rings, any engraving, etc.  They've been really good to us.

    Also, @ erin_alane - wooo, Hammond!  I just graduated from Southeastern last May and moved away.  Miss that place every single day, and I cannot wait to move back!
