G20 Summit

I live and work downtown, and I know that a lot of businesses downtown are making preparations for special security procedures that week (not just in the immediate area, but in a pretty large area of downtown).

Maybe I should take a vacation. Anyone else thinking of skipping town that week? Tongue out

I live just outside the boundary area (its at Spadina and I live on the west side of the street) - I know I can't go to my usual gym or take my usual route home already.  A lot of places are shutting down completely for the week!

Wow! I am out of the city and didn't realize it was going to that intense for people living/working downtown. I guess they have to ensure that there aren't any security breaches.

I think it might be hard to escape all of the craziness.. one of our groomsmen is an electrician and he has been working in Huntsville building temporary housing for some sort of a retreat for the summit participants. He has been working for a few months at it, so they must be building tons. I imagine traffic going north will be brutal!!

A few of my coworkers are taking vacation during the G20, and I know some businesses are asking their employees to work from home. I'm going to save my vacation for wedding & honeymoon, but things should be pretty interesting that week... I'm not really looking forward to the inconveniences.

I'm working from home for the week and will be at the cottage on the weekend.  I would say if you can get out of the city, why not :)

Sounds like it's going to be an interesting week in the news...
I don't live or work in the city myself, but my brother is an aspiring actor who has his graduation show at The Second City - booked to take place during the G20 summit.... heaps and heaps of family and friends were planning on attending his show, but recently we all received a notice saying that the show's been cancelled due to security problems they anticipate having in the city.

Unfortunately, it's my wedding weekend. In the downtown Cathedral. I actually just logged on here hoping for advice/suggestions/help with my panic.

    Sigh.
