STOP THE MADNESS PEOPLE!

So this actually started a few weeks ago when one of my mom's cousin's kids (is that a second cousin?) called me to ask me if she ever sent me her cousin's address. I was like, huh?, I never asked for it. Then she put in the position of saying, I wasn't planning on inviting her. Ok, so I am sure she goes back to tell her cousin this.

Fast forward to an hour ago, I get a text for said cousin saying, "Hey this is your cousin so and so (mind you if you start a text like this I obviously don't have your number so maybe you don't get an invite to the wedding) Could you talk for a minute?"

Sure, I am available now. Would you know she called to ask me if she is invited to the wedding? (uncomfortable). I then explained to her how way over budget we already are and if she comfortable with being on my B list, then she can get an invitation. Guess what, that's fine with her. Then she goes  on to say, she's not even sure she can come (her grandma recently passed away and had to fly to Guyana for a funeral).

Now this is what's really crazy, both her dad and the cousin above who called me to find out if she had sent me her address, said that they had already received invitations..what? I mean I expect that from her dad cause he probably thought the save the date was the invitation. But what's wrong with my other cousin? I didn't even send her a save the date, why she lying to her cousin?

Man, if this is the madness I have to deal with now..what's going to happen when I send out invites in a few weeks?

  • People are a trip! FI was in the store recently and saw an old classmate and she tried to act hurt/mad that she wasn't invited to wedding. He was like I haven't talked to you in over 5 years and he told me they were never even friends like that. She was like, I know but i know it's going to be fun and I want to come. (insert dumb face) I told him the next time someone asks for an invite, say you can come, we are selling tickets for $75 a seat. Drops mic......
