I need y'all decorating help..

My Mother is turning 60 next Friday & throwing herself a party.  She wants some sort of decoration for the foyer .. there isn't a theme, but her color scheme is green, cream & silver (I think) .. help me come up with something unique & elegant sans balloons .. please?

    Call an ossum florist and give them the color scheme, your mom's style, and your budget. 

    Bonus: the decoration will be extra nice to have around for the following week.

    My first thought was flowers too.  Then I thought maybe just a clear vase filled with stuff.  OR A CANDY BUFFET!

    DG, the woman doesn't want flowers *sigh* .. my sister & I suggested this, but noooo .. she wants to be unique.

    I'm thinking something along the lines of a photo collage of her through the decades .. my sister thinks it's lame & really spotlights her age (DUH!)  Or maybe one of those photo/autograph mat frame ..

    I was thinking flowers as well.

    And candy is always good. Maybe little cupcakes or petit fours in her colors on platters as centerpieces?

    HE when my mom turned 65 I put together a book of pictures she had taken with nice thoughts from her friends. Then shutterfly flucked up and lost all of the information and I gave up, but I still think it was a great idea.

    Girl, I'm fine. Bald as a plucked chicken all over :-/, and I look kinda scrawny, but I feel better than I have in a long time. I can eat normal food again in almost-normal amounts.

    I like the photo idea.  Another thought are vases or bowls filled with stuff.  You could swirl some organza in her colors, or limes, SPARKLERS, SOMETHING THAT EXPLODES!

    How about using frames like these (or something smaller if you can find them)

    fill them with pictures of your mom through the years and pictures of her kids and grandkids then hang them from a tree branch spray painted silver?

    Two birds, one stone: get pretty glass bowls and fill with various green and cream colored candies. Then put several photos in silver frames and arrange artfully on a table with the candy. Done and done.

    If it's a drinking crowd put out some pretty pink cocktails to greet people.

    Even better have a stud in nothing but an apron serve them!

    Is We Never Close gone?

    When my mom turned 50 I got the Nola party staples from there. You know we love our meatballs, chicken wings, and finger sandwiches. Yum.

    Nola, they're still open!  Woman, you know my Mother is cooking & several friends are too!  I don't know the menu yet, but I'm looking forward to those mini stuffed peppers, stuffed shrimp & rumaki!

    Stuffed bell peppers. Man, I miss the food so much.
