Ideas for unique venues

I'm trying to think of wedding venues that aren't the traditional golf course or events hall type locations.  Where are you guys having your weddings?  What places have you looked at?  A friend of mine suggested 64th Street Farm in Boulder, which looks beautiful, but is not big enough for our party.  I was thinking of contacting Denver Urban Gardens to see if it would be possible to have a wedding in any of their gardens.  I really like the idea of farms or food producing gardens for a wedding site.  My fiance and I are both into environmentalism and local, sustainable food is a big passion of mine.
What do you guys think?

What's your budget? What's your potential guest list?

There is a place called the Hudson Gardens that is kinda cool.  Also the Chatfield gardens.

Not exactly sure what you're looking for, but we're using the Boettcher Mansion. I consider it to be a fairly unique venue.

My budget is 10,000, but we'd love to keep it smaller than that if possible.
My guest list is looking like 150 people.  Thats supposing no one from my father's side of the family actually shows up, I've never seen them show up to a wedding before, so I don't think they will, but who knows if some of them will get a bug up their butt for a family reunion and decide to do more than just send a gift.  Then we're looking at closer to 175.
I have a friend who got married at Botanic Gardens and it was lovely, but I'm not sure if it's exactly my style.  I read that you can do receptions at The Blue Bonnet, and that sounds awesome to me, but I think they don't have quite enough room for everyone I'm going to have.  Damn my huge family!!!  I hate having to do no kids (with the exception of my own son and my niece) but once we start throwing kids in there we're looking at more like 200-250, and I just can't do that, you know?
I thought maybe about the Morrison Inn, if they do that sort of thing, but I don't know if they could accomodate my wedding party either.
Anyway, I'm looking for something really unique.  Something that doesn't do a lot of weddings, you know?  Something kind of funky, something a little casual, and if it could reflect my love for environmentalism, indie music, Colorado history, or exotic cultures (particularly Latino cultures) that would be awesome.
The family issue is the big one.  I have such a big family, and if I invite some, I have to invite all, you know?  It would almost be better to elope.  If I didn't think my family would be horribly offended, I totally would.

Other ideas I was thinking of (don't even know if it would be possible) include The Denver Library, Three Sisters Park, and Roxbourough State Park

A state park, now that's an idea for a ceremony.  Can I set up tents in a state park for a reception, I wonder?  How much would renting tents and a dance floor and everything cost me?

I dont know if you're still looking for wedding site options but I figured that I would send a suggestion your way based on your budget, guest list, and interest in an  exotic place. The pavilion at City Park in Denver is where I'm having my wedding. Its run by the city and is suuuuper affordable ( $350 without alcohol/$600 with alcohol--for up to 9 hours!!!). The facility can accomodate up to 300 people and has tables and chairs on site to be rented(chairs only $1 each). Also, the building has a sort of Spanish style to it and an added plus is a colorful fountain that comes on at dusk right out front.

    Good Luck!
