Need a new photographer!

Hi Ladies

Just as I thought I had finished with most of my big checklist items, I get an email this morning from my photographer that she is due a month before my wedding and needs to cancel our contract. I was very upset at first but I've since calmed down. She emailed me a few photographers that she works with and I wasn't happy with any of their websites. I also wonder if she canceled with anyone else because I got her information from a recommendation on here.

I found one that I really love (and is available) but I wanted to see if anyone on the board had used them before www.fotovitae.com. I have a meeting setup with Brandon later this week but I thought I would check for reviews or opinions. I really want to get someone booked this week so I can stop panicking.

    I am using Sally Yaich from Pink Caterpillar (www.pink-caterpillar.com/">www.pink-caterpillar.com)

    I really like her! She did a great job on our engagement photos and I can’t wait for her to do our wedding ones.

    Oh that is too bad. When did you originally book her? At least you still have time plus you have a November wedding, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a new photographer. My top recommendation is Craig Mitchelldyer. He did our wedding photos and he's amazing. He also had the pictures edited and ready for us the day after the wedding. He's such a nice guy too. 

    Other good photographers I've heard of are Christina Gilchrist, Lauren Brooks, Brian Rupp.

    Hi!  I'm not sure if you have already found a new photographer yet, but my husband is an amazing wedding photographer and I guarantee he will beat anything you have come across so far.  He will work with you.  Make it easier and affordable for you.  Give you the entire day, from start to finish without charging an hourly rate.  Give you full copywrite and ownership of all of your photos, plus more.  He is at least worth a call and maybe a meeting?  His website is www.redlinetalentstudios.com.  I'm on here because we did a quick Vegas wedding and now plan to do the "real" thing for friends and family. :-)  Finding a good photographer is hard.  I'm learning that very quickly.  Good luck!!!:-)

    We used Michael Hacker, and really loved him. We thought he had really great pricing too. And he was just a pleasure overall to work with. Highly reccommend him.

    Sorry to hear about that. You can try Dayna Schroeder Photography she recently was awarded Best of Weddings 2010 by The Knot.

    You really need to check out Powers Photography Studios, they were voted best wedding photographer for 2009 by Oregon Bride magazine. they also shot my wedding last august, and they were incredible. they also travel to destination weddings and dont charge travel fees. check them out at www.powersstudios.com

    If you were in Southern Oregon, I'd suggest Kevin Launius. His work is amazing!
