Happy/Sad Christmas News

We were orginally planning to go to PA for Christmas this year. But my parents are moving and they haven't sold  or even packed up their house yet. That, along with a bunch of other family shenanigans, and the upshot of it is that there will be no Christmas in PA.

I'm relieved in a way, because traveling with a 2 year old is not fun. Neither is paying for 3 tickets, staying with family, etc. I'm sad that I won't get to see my grandfather for Christmas, considering he's 88.

We'll have Christmas here, and my parents said they may come down at some point around there. Also, they'll be here in early December for Baby A's birthday. It may be a nice change of pace to have a quiet Christmas, just us.

  • Honestly, no christmas sounds like a slice of heaven to me.

I'm sorry you won't get to see your grandfather, though.

  • That is a bummer about your grandpa.

I've heard Disney is awesome for the holidays though.

  • It is, but he may come down for A's birthday, so at least he'll see us then. We'll see.

Disney IS awesome around the holidays. We're planning to go for Thanksgiving, but unfortunately our Seasonal Pass does not allow us Christmas access. Maybe we'd be able to get a resident rate or something. Something to look into.

Disney is awesome over Christmas - I surprised my kids with a trip there two years ago.

I'd much prefer to stay at home over the holidays instead of travel with kids. There's no rest that way, everyone is off their routines, and I always feel like I'm in someone's way. Besides, maybe having the grandparents come to you is the beginning of a new tradition!
