Vendor Reviews #1: DJ, Photo Booth, Transportation, Hotel Block

Figured I'd start my vendor reviews with those that I'm not waiting on something from. Please let me know if you have any questions! All vendor names are clickly to their website.

DJ: Toast & Jam
Kate and Rachel were awesome. Very quick on email, always great during meetings. We were able to go to them with ideas and they would translate it into songs. They followed our Do Not Play List and most of our Must Plays. I requested no line dances at the reception and even when 5 people asked them to play Cupid Shuffle, they still said no--I ended up giving in and letting them play it. The dance floor was pretty packed the whole night. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Photo Booth: Photo Booth Express
The photo booth was a huge hit! I know they are very trendy in wedding world and a few of our guests had seen one before but the size of the one we did plus the props put ours above the rest. Faith was great on communication and the on-site person, Moet, was great! She would reprint prints for people who requested it and would print extras so everyone had a print. Kristen from Kio Kreations (our florist) did create a file for the strips which was awesome and very easy since she did everything for it! I also bought the props (mustaches/lips/glasses on a stick from Etsy seller Little Retreats (http://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleRetreats) and everyone used them! The props were paper and they held up really well throughout the night. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND both PBE and LR as vendors.

Transportation: Chicago Trolley Co
They were good on communication and John answered my questions fairly quickly. However they did charge the balance to the credit card we used for the deposit without my okay, we were able to reverse the charges and put the balance on the new card but when they reversed the charges, the recharged the incorrect card. I realized this on my receipt and they fixed it immediately. The day of, the driver was nice but very strict according to time and location. When we went location to location, he needed exact addresses for everything which we didn't always have since we went to parks moreso than an address.  We forgot an ipod for the trolley but did have a cooler for beer. At our last location, which was basically behind our venue, when we were exiting the trolley he kept reminding us we only had 20 min left. I knew we had a time limit but the way he was telling us was almost like he didn't want us to do the last stop. I would recommend overall though, they were prompt and everyone enjoyed being on the trolley.

Hotel Block: Courtyard Marriott Schaumburg
We LOVED our hotel. The location was great and the amnetities were just what we wanted. They were great at accommodating all of our requests. They handed out our OOT bags for free, my room was free both nights, and we had free use of the hotel shuttle becuase of the number of rooms we booked. Our rate also included breakfast for our guests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Courtyard!

Coming up, Part 2: Church, Venue, DOC, Florist, Linens!
