Sparkpeople question

I know most of you say that you eat back some of your calories burned so that you net your goal amount.

My goal range on sparkpeople is 12001550. Today I ate 1575 but ran 3 miles. I don't know my exact calories burned but I entered it as 250. It's still showing that I went over my calories.

My question is...should I be eating 1550 max even when I work out? Or do I just do the math and make sure I am netting in that range? I guess I was assuming it would adjust on its own.

Thanks!

  • Spark doesn't do the eat what you burn thing, but you should do it anyway.

  • 1500 calories a day is a good goal for losing weight/maintaining a thin figure.  I personally don't believe in eating back what you work off, that defeats the purpose.  However it is very important to allocate some of your daily calories before your workout so you have fuel.

Staying between 1200-1500 every day, whether you work out or not is a good goal.
