What turns you...

OFF?

Lets round up a list of the things (or specific people/celebrities) that skeeve us out or turn us off. Extra points for pics.

Id have to say one thing is visible flakes in peoples hair, like big ones that just hang in there. It makes me want to gag. Im the same about boogers. I know they happen to everyone but for some reason it makes me totally want to back away from people who have them in their nose cause I would die if they breathed out at that moment and it hit me.

Also:

uuuugh, especially with facial hair like that. facial hair like that reminds me of stripper vag.

Re: What turns you...

  • Mouth breathers and chewing with your mouth open. Im really sensitive to sounds. also people who swallow drinks loudly.

  • It grosses me out when people make the sound in their throat trying to get ready to spit... And spitting in public.
    imageVacation
  • Gum smacking. Or really, just gum in general. I don't get gum.
    image
  • Ewww, spitting is gross.  Also, nose blowing.  I hate when people blow their noses in front of other people.  Especially at a table in a restaurant.

  • Some random things:

    really dry elbows

White stuff around the corners of the mouth (that's what she said)

    a lot of body hair

    slurping when drinking coffee

for women: cleavage that looks like a butt crack

and I will agree a lot of things that have been already said
  • Mouth breathers

People with shhit in their teeth

    Tighty Whities

  • The sound of someone clipping their nails is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Do kids evene know what that sounds like anymore (the chalkboard part)? Don't most schools use whiteboards?

I hate this sound.  And I hate toenail clippings.  I had an ex that would clip his toenails into the toilet and then not flush them.  It made me want to barf.

  • These are weird but I hate the feeling of wood and metal in my mouth so I hate seeing other people do it. Those Italian Ice wood sticks are a good example or gum wrappers.

<div>As someone who lived in Germany and shaved her legs for the first time in 5th grade just because all the other girls were doing it and I didn't want to be the skeezy girl...  that's not true of most of the population.  Thank goodness.  But the crunchy chicks who don't shave, REALLY don't shave. Major furry.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm icked out by men that think I want to see their shirtless beer-belly jiggling while they mow the lawn.  i think that slightly comes from jealousy since dangit.. I have to wear 2 layers on top no matter how hot it is out.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, people who put their gum on the edge of the plate at restaurants.  Made more gross if they put it back into their mouth after eating.</div><div>

Oh interesting. Is it a regional thing or just kind of like here where some women dont? I didnt mean to be offensive, that is just what he observed when he was there.

<div>i think it's just a certain mentality of some people.  They're very free and unencumbered.  They see no need to fit into the ideals of society, which i totally respect but couldn't do because armpits feel EWW if not shaved.  So I would think certain areas might have large populations of the same mindset because people DO seem to congregate with others of like mind.  i lived in an area that was quite proper and traditional (despite topless public swimming pools) so maybe other areas that were a tad more liberally minded had more of that sort.</div>

Not shaving your armpits is awesome. I never remember to shave them and I never notice unless I happen to see it and think to do it. I went a summer when I stopped shaving them when I was in college and it was an awesome time. I got lots of looks but I felt FREE!

People with dirty ears grosses me out, like when ear wax is literally coming out. FIX THAT SHITE. Its not hard to use a qtip regularly.

<div>Blarghity. Also, when some big-bellied man is wearing a t-shirt and it exposes his hairy gut when he lifts his arms....blarf.</div><div>
</div><div>I also get squicked out when adults use cutesy language, especially for bodily functions/parts. </div>
  • Feet (in general).

DH does the farmer john nose-blowing thing and it makes me want to vomit every time.  Use a damn kleenex like a human.

Uncovered belly fat (men or women).  No one wants to see that muffin top, girl.

    Back hair.

Hearing other people chew crunchy food.

Seeing people leave a restaurant table looking like a pig sty.  Have a little courtesy and clean up after yourself a little.

  • Nose hairs. They should never, EVER be seen. Nasty.

And crazy old man eyebrows ... you know the kind! Those unruly, wiry, life-of-their-own ones? My uncle had those BAD. He was also a huge bigot, so I wasn't too impressed with him anyway. So add that to the list ... huge bigots! ; )

  • Fortunately the only one on here that I'm guilty of is licking my fingers for messy food.  I admit, I'm a messy eater depending upon the food, and if I relied solely on the napkin, I'd need a stack of them.

    My turn-offs

--Tattoos (sorry, I dont have a problem with people getting them, I just don't like them)
--People who curse unnecessarily (cursing in your sentences when it makes sense is fine, but I hate it when I feel like they're cursing just to curse... or because they don't know any other words.)
--Bad teeth... but not just crooked.  You can't help it if your teeth are crooked, and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt that they can't afford braces.  But there's no excuse for your brown and yellow teeth.
    --really overdone/fake tans
    --Affliction/Ed hardy clothes.

Oh boy, this is a long list. I'm not sure if you meant for people in general or in a significant other. I'm answering as far as a significant other. Tattoos and piercings Smoking Drug use Body hair Facial hair Crooked and/or yellow teeth Poor hygiene Bad breath Disgusting, unclipped toe nails Laziness

  • People who assume. Swimwear that looks like a bra. People who say "these ones" People who mispronounce Alzheimer's and call it all timers. My list goes on and on. Lol

  • Oh can I jump in on this?

People eating flavor-coated chips (e.g., Doritos) from a bag. The entire combination of hearing the bag crinkle, listening to the loud open-mouthed chewing of the chips, and then seeing them lick the flavor dust off their fingers between every chip MAKES. ME. INSANE.

Disgusting teeth. FI has a friend whom I swear never brushes he teeth and I can't help but be distracted by it every time he talks. His teeth are yellow (even orange in some spaces) and textured. *cringe*

Cats. Sorry cat people in here, but to me cats are disgusting. I hate going over to houses where people have cats. The smell. The way they jump on everything (furniture, kitchen counter tops) with their nasty paws that are in and out of the litter box. Barf. Would never date someone with a cat.

Ditto the smoking, anything to do with nasty feet, teeth and hands. I am also turned off by tattoos and piercings.

My FI's unibrow. I make him get it waxed.  However, I do not make him wax his back hair - oddly it doesn't bother me?

Oh, I so agree with all of this and add throat clearing. The sound makes me want to punch a kitten. If it's not okay to blow your nose rhen it's not okay to move your phlegm around obnoxiously. Do that ish out of earrange.
