Invitations

I'm looking for recommendations on local stationers (not sure if that is the right term) that aren't outrageously expensive. I originally wanted to do them myself but don't trust my creativity or my printer and i'm nervous about ordering such a major thing online. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I ordered mine and printed myself and it turned out great and I saved big$. Many of these same places will print for you. Wedding Paper Divas is one that does. Look online - I must have looked at a gazillion invitations.

Try the Paper Patch in Des Peres.  We had good luck with them for my shower invites.

I ordered my wedding invites online at myjeanm.com, and I was very confident because they did colortyped pdf proofing, so I knew what I'd be getting before I approved them for the final print.  My invites were like $1.08 each for embossed type, custom designed, shimmery cardstock invites, plus lined envelopes, matching response cards and envelopes.  There's no way a brick and mortar store could have beaten that.

We used Vellum. Now, my Mom wanted to handle invites, so I can't tell you too much about the price points, but I'll tell you that they were life savers.
We had to reprint our entire set of invites due to a silly mistake on our part. They got it done nearly immediately [on a Saturday] with only a relatively small upcharge. They also got our seating charts and placecards printed out super last minute. They sent us proof after proof whenever we needed it and they were just very nice about everything, even though we were major slackers who probably made their jobs difficult.
Several people told us our invites were "classy" so I think they looked pretty good.

No idea how involved you want to get, but they addressed and stampled all of them for us (that cost extra, but if you're in a time crunch, it's a good option that I'm not sure if all printers offer).

And their shop is just super cute too in case you're waiting there and just need to wander around.

We're using Rock, Paper, Scissors in St. Charles. The owner designed everything and either prints in house or sends it out. She does a fabulous job and has been so much fun to work with!!

Unique Moments by Midwest Marketing. They did a great job with our invites and everything is custom. They even addressed all of your envelopes for us.  They are located about 45 minutes south of St. Louis, but will meet you just about anywhere.  Emilie Franke-Ayers is the girl we worked with: Emilie@MWMktg.com
