My invitation wording

Hey ladies!

My mom and I have found the invitation we want.  It's a seal-and-send invitation, so since we won't have any reception card or anything, all of the info has to be on the main invite.  Here is the wording we've figured out so far.  I'll remove personal info in case of interwebs creepers... :-)

Mr. and Mrs. John Neal Doe, Jr.
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Bridefirst Middle
to
Mr. Groomfirst Middle Last
on Saturday the sixteenth of July
two thousand and eleven
Church Name
1104 Name Road
City, North Carolina

Dinner Reception following ceremony
Restaurant Name
205 Name Road
City, North Carolina

The favour of a reply is requested
before June 16, 2011

I'm definitely looking for a double check on the capitalization, wording, etc.  My FI doesn't have parents (mom died years ago and dad has been out of the picture for a LOOONG time) and his family is only hosting the rehearsal dinner (which has a separate invitation).  If you have any suggestions I'd be very happy to hear them!  We want to get this invitation right the first time!! :-)  Thanks in advance!!!

And this is a post and run because I have to go to work!  See you ladies later! :-)

</div><div>Our invitation has the Two in Two thousand and eleven capitalized but it is on the next line:</div><div>
</div><div>Saturday the tenth of October</div><div>Two thousand and nine</div><div>
</div><div>Also, what time?  Ours says "at three thirty in the afternoon".</div><div>
</div><div>We ordered our invitations at DH's favorite Christian gift store and the lady there helped us with the capitalization.  Do you have someone at the company who will be able to proof it for you?  (In all honesty, your guests are not going to be looking for the capitalization but they will wonder what time to show up.)  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

Your capitalization looks fine.  Don't captialize the year.  It's neither a proper noun nor the first word of a sentence.

Personally, I prefer the American spelling of honor and favor.  After all, you are in the US and I think using the British honour and favour comes off as a little stuffy.

The only issue I see is the time, as well.  We're also putting the "u" in honour and favour.  I'm the only girl.  This is the only family event without camo, baseball hats, or cocktail weenies.  I really am ok with stuffy.
  • Just the time.  :)  Are you getting married in a church?  We're getting married outside so we have "pleasure of your company" but in a church you're right in saying "honor or your presence".

As far as the year - I've heard you don't have to capitalize it, but who knows lol.

    Looks great!!

Uh oh, I forgot to type the time!  Thanks for catching that!  Whew!!!

    two thousand and eleven
at six o'clock in the evening

It's a church wedding and people are traveling about 15 minutes down the road to our favorite steakhouse for the reception (they have a big private suite with a dancing room and a dinner room, etc, it's HUGE!).

We're a little undecided about the extra "u" in honor and favor.  Mom likes it a bit more stuffy, though, so I guess with the informal seal-n-send, that was our compormise!  :-)

Mom is going to print it out from the internet site we're ordering from to proof it... Since it's only going to be like $112 for the invitations, if we make a mistake it can be fixed with very little $$, so we're trying to proof it as much as we can before clicking "submit" on the order.  We looked locally and unfortunately they are all exorbitantly priced.  We're talking $500 and up.  We're getting everything we want, plus gratuity envelopes, plus personalized ribbons for the favors, and seals, for less than $300... actually I think the total was closer to $220.  :-)

Looks good to me as well! Pretty similar to mine as I have all the information on one card and a "favour of reply" on a card
