Bachelorette Party

Hey Ladies
I just got back from a Bacherolette Party this wknd. It was a party bus for one of my Best Friends from HS. It was a lot of fun but ended up being a drunken fest and a lot of hassle.
But at the end of the day it just wasnt my style so I don't want to do it for my Bachelorette Party. My MOH has been awesome and is willing to plan whatever I want but I don't know what other options are out there besides bar hopping.

I'd love to hear your Ideas!!

Agreed! I do NOT want something like that either....  My thought is maybe going to a winery and doing some kind of a wine tasting and some snacks there :) There are alot more places in the area than I would have thought.  I just thought a wine tasting would be something much more laid back and if people don't like wine/drinking it is still something they could come with and do with everyone and not feel excluded or uncomfortable!

I LOVE that idea. I <3 Wine. I was also thinking something like a Murder Mystery dinner thing. I did that with my family way back in the day and I've always wanted to do it again. But i don't know if they have ones with all female characters.

Absolutely no bar-hopping for me.  I always try to come up with some excuse when I'm invited to bachelorette parties that have that planned.

For mine we're going to dinner at Pizza Luce, then bowling, and then back to a friend's house for drinks.  Very low key, and hopefully no embarrassment.

That is a fabulous idea, too! I've never done one of those but I would think it was super fun for a bachlorette party.  If they don't do all female ones, they should for this very reason!

We're doing a couples thing at the Walleye Lodge up on Lake Osakis. FI's aunt owns the place, and there's this rustic lofty apartment above the bar, and she lets his cousin bring friends up and host parties there for free. It will just be FI and I, his cousin and her husband, and three other couples. Low key, cheap, and easy. We'll just carpool up there, and won't have to worry about transportation when everyone's drinking since we'll just have to stumble upstairs. I'm really excited!

We went to the Renessaince Festival for mine (it's a little corny and bawdy with comedy shows, giant pickles on a stick - great photo op,- fortune tellers).  Other things I've heard good reviews on here about are pole dancing classes (Flex Appeal...I think), slumber parties, and cooking classes.

I had mine last night and it was so perfect for me!
We went out to dinner at Chili's (my fave casual restaurant) for chips & salsa and 2-for-1 margaritas. Then we came back to my place (my place made the most sense) for an at home spa party. Yup, fruity drinks, chocolate desserts, and manis, pedis, facials, and massages!!!! SOOooooo nice. The girls booked Aesthetic Affair. I hadn't heard of them before, but they were great. Their massuese was especially amazing. Then we played some fun games. The girls who wanted to stay could just crash at my place, so no worries about driving. It was awesome. We're just looking for the next excuse to do another!

We recently threw my FSIL's party, and we had it at my other FSIL (her sisters) house.  We painted wine glasses for the bride and played a "newlywed" style game that was SOOOO much fun!  Her MOH had called her FI and asked him twenty questions, ten about himself and ten about his bride.  Some were odd "if your bride was an animal, what would she be?", some practical "whats one food your bride won't eat?", and some a little risky "whats your bride's favorite sexual position?"!!!  We all had to guess how many she was going to get right and whoever was closest got a prize.  We played a lot of other games too, but that one was the highlight of the night.  It was so funny.

Thank you Ladies so much! I am going to email my MOH and let her know that I am not looking for a Party Bus style. She seems really excited to plan it herself but also in her last yr of law school so I'll see if she wants suggestions and give her yours!

My MOH is going to plan mine, too.  I'm up for just about anything besides party busses, meatmarket bars, and anything penis-shaped.  Hopefully we'll just go out for cabaret and martinis or else maybe the Gay 90's for the drag show, since that's more my speed, and it'll be just a few of us, maybe 6 at the most.  My MOH can be really cheesy sometimes, I just hope she doesn't go all out with it.

I want cake we stopped at Gay 90s on Sat. Night and it was a blast. I have been to the drag show before so I went straight there when we got there.  I feel bad that all the straight people are taking over the Gay Bar haha.

I had a cabin weekend for my party. We booked a cabin for 2 nights and played games and watched girly movies and drank lots of margs.  It was awesome.

I used to go there with friends in my college days (drove down near-weekly from St. Cloud) for the drag show, and we actually had a lot of our board meetings there when I was on the GLBT Pride board.  The drag show can't be beat, at least not locally.  But yeah, it is kind of sad how all the straight people have taken over, but OTOH, it's great that so many straight people want to go to the gay bar because it's the best place to be.  I guess it's kind of a double edged sword, but I'm happy to see them still in business after all this time.

LOVE Gay 90s! I've been going there since I was 18 to the 18+ nights and a lot of my friends went there way before that even! It's a must on my bachelorette party to do list!

We looked into doing a pontoon boat rental (not sure what time of year your party would be), a Twins game or St. Paul Saints game (again, this might be dependant on time of year) I think that the "Thunder from Down Under' seems to come around usually once a year.  A few of the PPs mentioned a spa party or sex toy party.  We thought about doing a joint bachelor/ette party in Wisconsin Dells or just a weekend at a cabin.

Schmood - My wedding is in May but my MOH is looking at early April as she is graduating from Law School the week before the wedding. Good Idea about sport stuff though.

We just had mine this weekend! It was a blast. Dinner at Chianti Grill with the young and old.  Then the young went down to Park Tavern for super fun bowling night! We had so much fun!
