How to Destress?

So as I am sure you are all starting to feel the pinch of an upcoming wedding, what are some ways you have all found to destress get your mind off the wedding and that doesn't cost alot.
Between buying a new car, finding an apartment, family drama from every which side, and so little time to do absolutely everything I am struggling not to be overwhelmed. My boss I am a nanny loves me has been doing a ton for us the wedding and I can tell even she is getting stressed also has her own personal life stuff going on but the wedding just is not making it easier. Any ideas for how to help her too?

Re: How to Destress?

  • Sorry for this short post, but my original post got eaten by the Knot.

In a nutshell, I was saying get a massage or take yourself out on a date for a day (if you have a few dollars to spend).

Otherwise, I'd say do a spa day at home with your favorite products (that you already have, or it wouldn't be cost effective)

For her/him, you could either give them the day off WITH pay (if you can afford it) or treat them to a mani/pedi (you might be able to get one for $30 or so).

    I hope you destress soon!

  • I have been playing the WII. I get my exercises in and I can destress while doing it. I especially like the golf range and boxing.

  • I do love to go to a yoga class, I concentrate so much on breathing and the strechting that anything else is totally out of my head, and I sleep so much better at night after that.
  • I go for a run. It really helps clear your mind for a bit, and you get some exercise. Oh, and some "me" time. Nobody bothers you while you are running or walking.
  • Well, for me personally, i'm drinking green tea and about to watch a funny wedding movie...I'm thinking Bride Wars :)

Drink.  Haha, JK, though I do often like to destress with a glass of wine!  I agree with PP about going for a run and/or watching something silly on tv to get your mind off of things.

  • What pp said. I felt so stressed out on Monday and had some anxiety going on because of all the "amall details" that still need to get done, so I changed into some tights, a tee and my sneakers. I ran so hard and so fast that when I got back, it was like the weight of the world was off my shoulders.

  • I have been keeping my normal 4-5 day a week workouts, cooking, taking the dog for walks, and tonight I am having a girls night with my maid of honor to just relax and have fun!

  • Thanks for all the ideas guys, I've never been much of a runner but it sounds pretty helpful so I might just start! I think a girls night is in order too :D
