Hi Ladies,
I was married on May 30th just a few weeks ago- I wanted to give you guys some vendor reviews - I know they really helped me a few years ago when i joined the knot after getting engaged!
Flowers: Dawn Ackerman/Hillside consultants:A+- dawn was by far my favorite vendor, she was perfect right from the beginning, she is prompt to respond to emails, works with your budget, and her bouquets are jaw dropping. i got so many compliments
Photography: Nina Barry Photography - TBD Nina has been awesome to work with she was extremely professional the day of and set us up for some great shots- i cant wait to see them!
Venue- ceremony (private residence) reception - walker fine art gallery- A - after we paid them the caterer really just took over, they had a house manager there that night that I saw maybe once, great to work with and free parking!
Caterer: Occasions by Sandy- C, in the end I was fairly disappointed by occasions the food was good the night of by not quite as good as our tasting. the most frustrating part of this was the communication, it often took over a week for our contact to get back to me - a few times I had to send a follow up email to get the response " you were on my list of emails today" in the world of iphones and blackberrys which i know they use, i would at least like a " got your email when i have more time this week I can get back to you with a thorough response" that would have been completely fine. Overall everyone was really happy with the dinner, but they also forgot a lot of key things I was glad I had a DOC to cover.
DOC- Carrie Johnson- A++ i am head over heels in love with carrie she was my sanity- i was the third of my group of friends to use her for DOC- she is super reasonable 20/hour with consultations and rehearsal dinner for free. I would never recommend that someone attempt to get married without her.
Rentals- colorado party rentals- A- professional on time, and man rentals are expensive but their quote came in at about four hundred less than Butler and event rents. we used them for both ceremony and reception
Limo- On demand transportation= B we got a great rate from them and our driver was wonderful, the limo was said to include champagne but we brought a cooler since there was 15 of us, low and behold there were six bottles of champagne. My only complaint is that it said in our contract that we would have an escalade and a hummer was what we got- oh well.
DJ- DJ Guy events- drew- A: Drew was great as well as Mike who we dealt with prior to the wedding, our dance floor was packed the whole night. definitely recommend
Cupcakes- Tee and Cakes- Kim - A: Delicious! and affordable we could not believe how expensive a wedding cake was and not very yummy, 600 dollars at childs bakery for dry white cake, I dont think so- so we went with the cupcake option and it was heaven. Tee and Cakes is delicious!
Piano- Onofrio Piano- F: we rented a grand piano for the ceremony for our friend to play, we drove across town to pick it up because they would not deliver, not fun for the groomsman to hold down in teh back of a truck, and then we we tested it for rehearsal four of the most important keys did not work- of course they were closed but we were lucky they responded to our bazillion messages. on the wedding day they said if someone drove it back two hours befor ethe ceremony they would replace it- this was followed by a scramble to get uncles, friends any one willing to drive a grand piano across town and exchange it. This was followed on Monday when we went to return which I confirmed many times, they decided to be closed for memorial day, another scramble to find someone to return it while we were on our honeymooon, haha.
Dress: Victoria Rose Grand Junction: A- my parents live in junction and I am so happy I got my dress from Victoria rose, they helped me find a dress that fit my body and gladly helped me in and out of at least a dozen- great experience. My only complaint which isnt really them is that alterations are a lady out of the shop- they were reasonable but my bustle broke just five minutes after tying it up from my new husband stepping on the back fo the dress- literally ripped all the ties= oops had to have a train all nite.
