Dress Shopping in NH?

A few people have told me to go dress shopping in NH to save on taxes and generally just get better prices. I'm new to the Boston area, do you ladies have recommendations on where I could drive to in NH for a weekend trip that would have a few options for me? Where should I be looking?

Re: Dress Shopping in NH?

  • There's a place in Portsmouth that I have heard is good. Madeline's Daughter. They have lots of great brands - Pronovias, Maggie Sottero, Lazaro, Kenneth Pool, etc. I haven't been so I don't know about the service or selection.

Madeline's Daughter in Portsmouth. I bought my dress there. They have "tons" of selection. I was originally going to spend up to $5k and found my dress for $1,600!! Maggie Sottero, lindell (if you do a search for that dress some of my pics come up haha) The place is very nice, dressing rooms beautiful, I'd consider it upscale for a shopping experience. The sales staff is very nice, I worked with a girl named Kerry, and she was great, no pressure! Just call and tell them you are coming so they can put you in the books. There's a Margarita's next door also for lunch. Also bought our flower girls dresses there, my veil, and my shoes that I had dyed ice blue.

  • Second that.  One of my bridesmaids bought her dress there and she had a great experience.  If I hadn't found my dress at the sample sale I went to I was planning on making an appointment.

  • I bought my dress at Madeline's Daughter.  I was extremely lucky to find a sample sale dress that was 80% off at their After Thanksgiving sale.
I woulld definitely make an appointment, just to be safe.
  • Cannot recommend enough Madeline's Daughter in Portsmouth. I have no idea if the prices were that much better but my dress buying experience has been amazing so far! I know if you buy your wedding dress there, you get a discount on bridesmaid dresses.
  • A few other choices to look into..... Marry and Tux in Nashua NH has a good reputation.  Although, I didn't feel like the selection was as big as some places.  Modern Brial in Bedford, NH has great prices and you don't need an appointment.  You can just go in and browse or work with a sales person.  The service isn't as special as most shops because of the no appt. thing but the prices and selection make up for it.

  • Oh and Nashua and Bedford are only like 20-25 minutes away from each other.

  • I just bought my dress at Madeleine's Daughter and I had a wonderful experience. Sadie was amazing and I highly recommend her!

    Good luck!
  • A Day to Remember in Concord is great as well. I just went to try on dresses for the first time and was clueless and all the women that worked there were great! No pressure at all!
