Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Morning, Ladies!  How are you all doing today?

My workout went really well last night (back, biceps, abs) and today is yoga, which I'm sort of dreading.  It's so many vinyasa poses, and it's tough, which I appreciate, but I'm just not a yoga fan.
Scale/bloating is still up so I think I've found that my chickpea casserole is the culprit - going to have to find a way to make it even more low sodium next time.  Today will be super healthy eating before the festivities start tomorrow.

I doubt I'll be the first one up for the rest of the week because my company gave us the next three days off, so I'm going to try to force myself to sleep in.  Happy almost 4th!

Well it was Canada Day weekend for us....so we pretty well lacked the willpower to avoid BBQ'ed food, drinks, etc.  Saturday I was down 0.3 lb...FI and I even forgot to measure.  Last night I was supposed to have my arm/shoulder weight class but I didn't go to that due to my parents visiting and then we were visiting friends after.

But today is Tuesday, back to work from the holiday weekend and back on it!  Healthy lunches packed, we'll do our daily walk at work which is normally 50 mins and then we we go home, soem strength training and treadmill - normally interval training.

  • morning guys!

As Miss said, it was a long Canadian weekend and it was tough to try and stay on track...my food was kind of ok, but not great. I am noticing I have nasty reactions to refined sugar now but everyonce and a while I just cant say no to it and that got me in trouble in this weekend.

I tried to balance out food with workout and did a spin class sunday and FI and I walked a lot but it was all blown yesterday, his parents both share a birthday and we went out to a fancy French bistro for dinner-uugh, too much wine and food (albeit good) was so salty I'm feeling the bloat today!

tonight I am doing a pump class at the gym...someone on yesterdays thread asked if anyone has done them (sorry dont remember who it was) but I do! and I think they are awesome, I always feel it the next day thats for sure!

Lobsters when you make your chickpea casserole do you use canned beans? That was driving my sodium way up so I started using dried-its not THAT much extra work, just extra planning (soak the night before-then boil for about 20ish mins before you use them)
I also found any pasta sauce including plain old tomato was loaded with sodium so I started buying no sodium added tomato sauce and season myself.

  • souptin - I used canned but I bought the low sodium.  I'll have to try the dried next time to get it even lower.  It also has a few ingredients I haven't checked the sodium on yet, like lactaid cottage cheese.  I need to get on that this weekend.  Thanks for the advice!

  • Souptin - that was me that inquired about the bodypump class.

With your recommendation, I think I'm going to step out of my comfort zone and attend one. I thought they had it going on tonight, but apparently it's the CX Work class tonight...I'll go to that and try for bodypump next Monday (of course they're closed tomorrow for the 4th of july).

Yesterday I tried to go on a walk with a co-worker, she decided after the first lap that it was too hot though.

After work I had to drive all the way out to the mall for a Sephora appointment, which was SUPER fun but took up a lot of time. By the time I got home I was starving and it was late, so I ate dinner, watched some TV with FI and then went to bed.

Tonight is most definitely a gym night.

  • Yesturday was my recovery ride. I did 35 minutes on the trainer. I ate well.

    Tonight is Swim.

Tommorrow is run 10 miles and do pilates in the am before eating like crap in the pm :D.

  • I ate pretty well yesterday and knocked out 30 minutes of elliptical this morning. This evening I'm hoping to go for a long walk and then tomorrow we're going for a hike before the BBQs commence.

    Happy 4th!

  • Back and abs this morning at the gym followed by a 2 mile jog. I was up a whole pound from yesterday and I think it was due to snacking on too much peanut butter sonill cut that the next few days and see what happens. I DID have a few bites of a birthday cake last night, but didn't go all out crazy on it, though I would have lived to. H and I have date night on Thursday so I need to decide what my feat meal is going to be. Im leaning towards wings, but not sure yet.

Ran a little over 7 miles this morning.  It feels good to get back on track!  I like these long run days because I can indulge in some Jimmy Johns and still stay within my calories!  FI works until 9:30 tomorrow night so I'm going to run tomorrow evening (yay for sleeping in!!!) and then on Thursday morning I'm going to do another 7 miles.  This weekend will be tough...we're going up to FMIL & FFIL's house for a 4 day weekend and they LOVE to stock the house with delicious snacks.  I'm going to try hard to be good and exercise moderately and stay within my calories!!

  • I had my weigh in last night and lost I think just about 1/2lb. It's sometimes hard to tell because my scale is old and you can really only tell .5lb at the least. In reality, it was probably like .2 or .3lb, but at least I am moving in the right direction. Last week was so stressful and busy it was really hard to stay on track, so I guess I should be happy i did not gain any.

Hoping this week will go better. I stayed under my calorie goal yesterday and got in a 20 min abs and buns video workout at home. Today started off scary. A co-worker brought in croissants with homemade jam. I had one (yum!), but was happy to see it was not worse in calories than my normal breakfast - just less filling. I will have to come up with some really low cal snacks to make it through the rest of the day, but I think I can do it. I am working the 4th, so hopefully that will keep me away from all of the BBQ and such and this weekend I am meeting up with two of my bridesmaids to go dress shopping for bridesmaids gowns for one of their weddings. The bride has lost 20-30lbs and the wedding is in October, so it will be nice to eat out with others looking for healthy choices.

  • Yesterday I sent FI a recipe for dinner and his response was that sounds good but I would prefer a nice light salad. I don't think he's ever asked for a salad as a meal before. Made a spinach salad with roasted red beets, cherries, goat cheese and an orange vinaigrette topped with some grilled shrimp. I'm trying to muster up the motivation to bike to work today.

[QUOTE]Morning everyone!  It's been an interesting few days.  That pain in my tailbone from last week ended up being an infected wound, which I'd planned to see a doctor about yesterday...until I passed out in the shower on Sunday morning and Fi insisted that a trip to the emergency room was in order.   All is well now, but we did get some unexpected news after the blood tests at the hospital:  I'm pregnant! So, fitness goals and plans are going to change, and I'm not too concerned about weight loss anymore.  But I do plan to ask the doctor how long I can keep running and exercising, since I want to be in good shape for this baby.  This week is all about rest and healing, though, and trying to eat well. Also, had my dress fitting over the weekend, and they'll have to take it in quite a bit, but I'm very happy with how it looks - so I'm alright switching to a maintaining diet for now. Happy 4th everyone!

  • Morning all!  I'm a little late this week... Had to drive 4 hours to get to the externship Sunday.  Got in a good workout Sunday morning, but Monday I couldn't find the time to sign up at a gym.

Today I signed up at a local gym for 2 weeks, and got in a HIIT workout.

I have not eaten anywhere close to "healthy" pr "clean" in the past 3 days, most because of travelling and the whole "No food" deal.  I think my monthly friend is getting ready to visit, and thus encouraging me to eat things that I shouldn't be...  Ah well, it is what it is!

Hope everyone else has a good week!
  • Hi Ladies!

Last night I did 30 min. elliptical and 15 min. of steppter followed by a light dinner. This morning I did strenght training with my PT. I have about 8.5 weeks (60 days today!) until my wedding and want to lose at least 7-8  more pounds so I am really trying to be focused. Packed all my healthy meals for the day and am trying to plan out my next treat. The treat will be either today, tomorrow or Thursday - depending on when I feel like I need one.

  • Yesterday was my first day of summer school so I had to go from work to class. I was good about my eating and packed lots of healthy snacks to help get me through the day.

Today did not start off as well since wasn't able to get  to sleep when I wanted so i ended up sleeping through my wake up and do insanity alarm :/. Im at least going rock climbing for a little bit today between work and night class so excited for that.

Hopefully I can keep my eating good today and thn after my night class find the motivation to do insanity since at least I can sleep in tomorrow. And I know tomorrows eating and drinking will be awful. I've been debating bringing some of my own lower calorie alcohol drink to the bbq(dont know what yet) so I can still drink with everyone but not feel as guilty about it.

  • @K - Holy smokes!! That's fab! Congratulations! Hope you'll stick around and let us know how things go even though you won't be aiming to lose :)

@Everyone - has anyone tried the Skinny Girl brand of alcoholic drinks? I want to know if they're actually good/substantially lower cal than originals?

Yesterday FI and I went out for a run together, but unfortunately after about 2.5km the arch of his foot was bothering him, so we had to walk the rest of the 1.5km home. Too bad, but I couldn't just leave him! I also walked the dog twice yesterday (once in heels... that was a mistake). So I feel like it was still a good exercise day.

I went shopping yesterday afternoon with FI for some new bottoms because my current clothing is falling off of me (guess that happens when you lose 32 pounds, shocking) and I got to buy clothes that were 2 sizes smaller than usual! I got to buy a pair of shorts in size 12, and before I had been buying bottoms in a tight 16! Super stoked.

Today I'm going to walk the dog and keep the eating on track. I am going camping with family and friends on July 28 and would love to look way different than I did last year - so I'm trying to keep up my current weight loss pattern of 1-2.5 pounds/week!

  • Yesterday I only ran 1.1 miles in the morning. I ended up with the trots and cut it short. I planned on walking my dog, but I had to go back to the office last night and got caught up walking with the office manager for way too long and still had errands to run and never made it.

Today I ran my 1.87 mile uphill loop. I have spinning tonight and I'll follow that up with another run.
