Trying to lose the last 5 pounds in 2 months...

I've been trying to lose only 10 pounds within 5 months ... well, I only lost 3 pounds so far...  I can't seem to lose more weight... i would like to  lose another 5 pounds in 2 months when my wedding is...i work out 5-6 days a week, at least 30min - 1 hour cardio each time and about 30-50 min. weight... but still can't seem to lose the last 5 pounds... i eat healthy, no fast food, no fried food, a lot of vegetables, i'll keep a food log, etc... any ideas how i can lose 5 more pounds til the end of May? Thank you!

  • i would probably do more weights than cardio. one of my previous trainers said it's more beneficial to do weights before cardio. i don't know if it's true, but just a suggestion. :)

    I do not know if you casually drink wine, beer or mixed drink.. if you do you need to minimize because this keeps on weight. Also to drink alot of water helps. What kind of cardio workouts are you doing?  If you are eating alot carbs that keeps weight on such too many portions of breads, cereal, crackers... Hope this helps :)
  • Your food intake is really the best way to see where your problem lies.  You may be eating a good amount of calories to lose weight, but because of all the exercise you may be burning enough to put your body into a bit of starvation mode.  This happened to me and actually upping my calories led to more weight loss.
  • I have been struggling with my weight for awhile, fluctuating between 175 and 155...In January I started with ACE as a skeptic. I am sure, like me, you all have tried everything. Between Walmart and Walgreens I sure have!

  • One word of caution:  About 2 months before the wedding is when you should be doing your first fitting.  You're not going to want to lose much more once you start your fittings.  Even 5 lbs can make a difference.  So keep your fitting dates in mind, and talk to your seamstress, before you really try to lose those 5 lbs.

  • 1.) Is it realistic for your body to lose another 5 pounds? It may be at a nice healthy weight it likes.

    2.) Your body may be so used to the constant and same workouts that you've got to keep doing it to maintain. Does that make sense? Try switching up your workout routine. Also, try more weight lifting than cardio.

    3.) Ditto what J&K said about losing weight after your dress fittings. You don't want to alter then need to alter again. (Although, I'll most likely be in the same boat as you. My first dress fitting is tomorrow and I'll need about 5-6 fittings because I'm having so much structual work done on it- So, I'll also be walking on the line of.. should I keep working to lose lbs or just maintain?)

    I love myfitnesspal.com for logging my workouts and food.  It will provide net calories for you so if you work out, you will get to eat more.  This will help keep your body from starvation mode too.  I'm not sure where your weight is, but if it is in a healthy zone, like PP said, it may not want to lose 5 more pounds.  Good luck!!

  • I also use myfitnesspal.com but on my phone. I love it because I never realized how much junk I eat and how many mozzarella sticks lol. But it definately helps and when you work out it counts the calories for you. Maybe it will help :)
