check my save the date wording

We are looking forward to exchanging vows and celebrating with our friends and family on February 23, 2013 in New Orleans. For all travel and wedding details be sure to visit our wedding website, XXX

Because we're getting married in a touristy destination I want to make sure people book hotels early - how do I add that?

Re: check my save the date wording

  • I personally find that too wordy. Save the Dates are supposed to be very straightforward.

You should send these out no sooner than 12 months. 6-9 is standard, but I think 10-12 would be fine. I think your guests will know that New Orleans is a tourist spot, especially during that time of the year, and they will plan their travel arrangements themselves. Include hotel blocks on your website, or suggestions for hotels. Guests can figure out the rest, so you don't need anything but the above information on the STD.
  • Ok I am semi new to the boards - how do I check your website?  I can't see where to click it

We are date twins!! I made hotel room blocks and the hotel told me the rooms must be booked by feb 9 to guarantee the group rates so I put this onmywedding website.

Ours just said "Save the date for the wedding of [my name] & [his name]" then a calendar of Sept with the 8th circled. Below that is
    "Saint, Louis Missouri
    2012
