I am looking for a company to use for my wedding invitations and stationary. Any suggestions on companies you have used and liked? What were their prices? Anyone I should stay away from? Did you find it necessary to coordinate all of your wedding stationary (invitations, thank you notes, table cards, place settings, etc)?

I used the BRIDES set of invites from Michaels, and got my program paper there. I got my thank you notes from Swoozie's. My bridesmaids got my shower invites there as well. My stationary coordinated to a point, but not extensively. My thank you notes didn't match at all. But I wanted cute/fun ones, so I didn't care. You can definitely match up everything if that's what you want.

I'd avoid scrapbook stores, unless they're know for stationary, and stick with stores that specialize in it. As for websites, I have no idea. Other girls should be able to help you there though

Pricing really depends on what you want and if you want to DIY or have the company do everything. Invites out of a book (from a stationary store -- think Crane, William Arthur, etc) can range anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on the number of invites, number of pieces, and how ornate you want to go. If you decide to look at a store make sure you know that one of their "Wedding Experts" will be there. Those books are really complicated, and the pricing can get confusing, so it helps to have an experienced person helping you.

We decided we couldn't afford to order stationary so we just DIY'ed it, however, I think if we had a person who knew what they were doing, we probably could have found some that we liked and could afford, and saved the hassle.

well said MandaSue! I ordered my invited from an etsy seller but honestly, they ended up being a disaster. I had to regllue every pocketfold and the type bled onto the other side of the paper. So make sure if you do something like that, you know the quality is good. i was trying to get a fancy invite for cheap and well, you have to be careful!

Then I bought matching paper and cardstock at paperandmore.com (or is it papersandmore) anywa, I am making my own programs, table numbers, menus and escort cards from that. They all do match the invites but I got lucky and found the exact paper. As for thank you's, I think we are going to do picture thank you's so those will not match.

Do what you want to. I love uniformity but that's just me. Do what you like, it's so much fun to make it your own! Good luck!

I actually had a graphic artist friend design the save the dates, invitation suite, programs, menu cards and thank yous. I ordered STDs and Invitation suite from Cardsandpockets.com (paper, printing and cutting). SUPER NICE and they turned out great! I also ordered my pocketfolders there. Super reasonable prices. Not too much price difference btwn color and B&W.

I had vistaprint do our thank yous and I printed our programs & menu cards myself on our laser printer. I used stardream metallic cardstock and envelopes from envelopemall.com. Waaaay cheaper than PaperSource, which has a store here in Dallas. So, ordered online, didn't have to leave my house, didn't pay tax, saved money and had them delivered straight to me. :-)

I've had TONS of compliments on the invitations.....they were a PAIN, but turned out awesome.

I used Etsy for my invitations, table numbers, and escort cards and had a great experience with both sellers. I did my programs myself. Everything matched in that it was all the same colors (black, champagne, ivory) and everything except the programs had crystals. I am a big believer in having the invitations set the tone for your wedding and then following a theme throughout--how you do that is up to you. It would have been nice to have matching Thank You cards but we wanted to do photo cards since we had many guests that couldn't attend the wedding. I did have custom envelope seals made for my invitations and then used the same ones for my TY cards.

There are lots of invitation options out there as well as budget options so just find the one that is best for you. I looked at invitations for literally hours but never found anything that matched my vision so instead had mine custom made.

Some popular online sites are: American Wedding, Rexcraft, Wedding Paper Divas, My Gatsby, Invitations by Dawn and of course Etsy.

I'm doing all of the paper products for the wedding DIY. For the invites I ordered pearlescent metallic petal cards, envelopes and linen paper from paperandmore.com. I ordered square envelopes for my STDs from envelopemall.com - like aphitx said it was cheaper then paper source.

I purchased cardstock from Michael's (always when it was on sale/ or with coupons) which I am using for the STDs, matting in the invites, table names, escort cards, menus and programs.

I am using Doodle Dog Occasions for mine and they are awesome! They do custom invites or let you pick from what they have already made, and they even give you an option if you want to print them yourself to save money they will let you and you just pay for the design (or they will do the works if you don't want to do any of it yourself). They did my save the dates, table number, and are making my invitations now and i'm planning to have them do my thank yous also. I told my bridesmaids about them too since they are throwing me a couples shower and they got the shower invites from them also. I used Gayle with The Paper Kutt. She did an awesome job on my pocket folds, but it was pricey. $5.50 each. Worth it for me to not have to worry about it since I did a lot of things DIY.
