Honeymoon Check!!!

We are going to Maui!!!! So excited! This has been the hardest check to accomplish. I did not think it would happen even though I've had my heart set on Maui, I thought we'd go somewhere closer/cheaper. We never go away (been to Key West and Cape Cod for a grand total of 6 whole days in the 7 years we've been together) so we put a lot of thought into where we both want to go and decided to splurge and expanded our budget to make it happen. We're staying at the Hyatt in West Maui. I cannot wait!!

Now, off to meet our photographer for the 1st time in person. Tomorrow, we pick up our rings and order the invitations. Wow, July brides, in almost three months, it will be our wedding month!

    We're going to Maui too! We're staying at the Marriott in Wailea for 7 nights and we're still looking for a hotel/VRBO to stay at for 2 nights in either Lahaina or Hana.

    FI and I were not going to do a honeymoon because we just can't afford one until at least 6 months after the wedding (minimum) but he came up witha  great idea for a 'mini-moon".  We're going to drive to the East Coast (east Coast Canada) and visit the Maritimes.  We both have a week off after our wedding and figured this an affordable "honeymoon" until we can actually afford the trip we really want.   We can take our time, sight-see, whale watch and stay at B&Bs.  I'm super excited about it now.

    We're not taking a honeymoon. I'm not working right now (well I am but barely enough money to pay the bills) so we can't afford it. I'm hoping to take a weekend mini-moon the weekend after the wedding. Then we'll do a big trip either chirstmas time or next summer, or later depending on if I find a job.

    Haven't quite decided yet. I earn "miles" when I finance deals at work so we're trying to wait until I get enough to decide what we'll do. He wants to go to Jamaica and I want to go to the Maldives... We'll just see I guess.

    We are taking our honeymoon in October.

    We are flying to Charleston, SC and spending 3 days there, Savannah, GA and Disneyworld.

    Honestly, the only reason we can afford a HM is thanks to our parents. We've been doing some things a bit backwards-bought our house two years ago and already have all the things most newly engaged couples would get on a registry. But we've scrimped and saved and now can afford to get married and have a honeymoon. It's not entirely guilt-free though! We go back and forth..."HM...new roof...HM...redo bathrooms..." But I think we need a vacation and if we're ever going to splurge, this may be the only chance!

    Congrats on the check! My honeymoon plans change daily. Lol I was supposed to go on a 7day cruise. Then I was going go on a mini moon to puerto Rico but I changed my mind. Now I'm thinking ocean city md for 3 days but I don't know the attendance policy for the nursing program. I guess we will figure out some last minutes plans.

    I am also going to Hawaii for our honeymoon.  We shoud have probably saved the money and gone on something shorter or closer to us but we figure this will probably be one of the last times in the next several years we can justify taking off 2 weeks and spending the money.

    My fiance is from New Zealand, so we plan to 'stop halfway' in Fiji for a week, continue to New Zealand's north island for a week to see his family and have a NZ reception, spend another week in the south island road tripping through the sounds, whale watching, hot springs, and wine country, and then another week with his family again.  We were fortunate to be able to get our flights between the islands, our hotel stay in Fiji (Intercontinental), our car rental on south island, and 2 hotels on south island for free using reward points! CAN'T WAIT!

    Congratulations Hawaii is beautiful.  I hope to make it to Maui some day.  I've been to Ohau, and Kuai and it was amazing. 

    For our HM we're going to Orlando for two days then on a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.  I'm really excited for my FI he hasn't ever really been on a real vacation.

    All of your honeymoon's sound so exciting! We are going to Boston, MA. We live on the West Coast and I use to live on the East coast and I LOVE the East Coast and my FI is a HUGE Red Sox fan....so, with our budget, this is something we figured we could afford and really enjoy. There is so much history there and so much to do. We can't wait!

    TChiumi-I would LOVE to do a cruise of the isalnds! Someday...

    6billionsouls-My FI is a RS fan too! I'm a NYY fan (we live in NY) so as I'm sure you can  guess, makes for some interesting moments...Luckily FI is a huge baseball fan so it works! I love Boston, and we always say we'll get there for a long weekend, see a game...hasn't happened yet, but I am determined!
