wedding favors

Does anyone have good ideas on favors? I feel most of the time people don't use favors, throw them away, or it's some sort of dessert. I would rather buy something that people could make use of. Any suggestions or unique ideas for favors?!?

Re: wedding favors

  • Well for my favors I'm making the "cookies in a jar"  simple ingredients to make cookies(chocolate chip, oatmeal ect) in a mason jar. Recepie on the back, what they have to add (egg, milk, water) and decorated really pretty. Dont know if that helped or not
  • We did photobooth favors.

  • We are going to give wine to our guests.  Trader Joes sells a wine called Three Buck Chuck.  Really great tasting and only $3 LOL.

  • We come from a family of bbq and beer people so we are doing bottle cap openers! I feel the same way about how people throw away the favors a lot and we want something we feel our family will use.
  • I'm doing maple syrup (in a maple leaf container, fall wedding).

You can do a little "Lucky in Love" envelope with a $1.00 scratch off in it.

  • I'm considering little jars of honey.  I figure people generally use honey, and we had tea on our first date, with honey. Kinda cheesey, but it could work.

  • We have a photobooth so we're providing magnetic frames for people to put their photos in.

  • We did olive oil and vinegar sets from a store that sells really good quality oils.  Our guests loved it and we had very few extra to take home with us.

  • While I did not do favors, my favorite favor as a guest was a wine stopper.  The wedding was in the fall and they gave everyone a stopper that had a leaf on the top.  My only thought was they probably could have saved money by giving just 1 per couple

  • We are having a photobooth and FI does home-brew so he is making beer as well.

  • We are making a donation instead of giving a favor, I lost two grandparents to lung cancer this past year so we are donating to the American Cancer Society.  They are printing and sending us nice cardstock cards with an explanation as to why we chose to donate in lieu of a traditional favor, it has my grandparents names as well as our names and wedding date on it and we are putting that with the menu at everyones seat.

  • We had a candy buffet where the guests could take home a bag of the candy they liked. I know they're done often at weddings now, but they're still very popular with all the guests, even when our guest list was 98% adults.

In my honest opinion, I believe anything edible is always good.  I can't tell you how many bottle stoppers I own at this point.  LOL!  I am using a company called, Two Chicks with Chocolate.  They have custom favors...and AWESOME little chocolates.  Check them out - they are located in South River, NJ.

Oh, and the photo booth idea goes without saying!  EVERYONE loves the photo booth!!  Those are AWESOME favors!

Cute idea!   Me, personally, LOVE any cookie jars I get from favors.  I received one at my sisters 50th birthday party and it was GREAT!  GREAT idea for a wedding favor!

Always love when couples do this one!  It holds a lot of meaning to the couple and love the fact you are donating!  My first hubby died of cancer at the age of 39 so this favor I always hold close to my heart.
