UPDATE on the missing Etsy Seller...

So as I posted yesterday, this lady had 24 hours to respond or it was ON!!!  Well her 24 hours were up as of this morning.  So I opened a claim with Etsy and Pay Pal.  And lo and behold, literally 10 seconds after the claim was opened here she comes emailing me saying she was going to ship the hanger this weekend.  She claims she changed her email address and if I've been emailing to her old address, she hasn't been getting any of the emails.  First off, how's that my problem that your email address has changed.  Second off, if you are running a business and you know that people communicate with you via email, wouldn't the first thing you do is update your email address and lastly, usually when I send an email to an invalid email address, the email bounces back to me as undelivered (which didn't happened here).  Now she's going on about how she's so sorry and she's a full time student and Etsy is her only source of income and she was going to ship this weekend but if I'm not longer interested, she'll issue a refund.  I mean I understand starving students, I really do.  Heck I went thru the same thing but business is business and I still think somethings fishy

    Well at least she responded. I agree though that you shouldn't have had to open a claim in the first place.  That's just bad bidness period point blank.

    Let's see if she sends it, you should have it by Friday at the latest if she mails it today or tomorrow.

    Ugh, sorry you had to deal with that.

    Girl I'm so peeved at the whole thing that I really want to cancel it all together and be done with it and her. But I'll see how I feel in an hour or so after I calm my nerves down.

    Then she was saying the wedding is in April (because I asked her to put the date of the wedding on it) so I'm not sure if she's trying to insinuate that my order went to the back of the stack since I had originally placed in Jan but what difference does that make.  You should be filling the orders as they come in and not by the date the person needs them.

    Wow, glad she finally contacted you! And I agree something's not right. If its a major source of income she might want to adjust her methods so it stays a source of income.

    Let her send the hanger and if you have any issues with it request a refund and send it back.  I posted a picture eariler today I order my hanger on Feb 2 had a few emails back and forth with the seller prior to purchasing and it was at my house on Feb 27th.  I understand that this is something that she may do on the side but business is business and if you  have my money you need to respond promptly.  Hopefully you won't have to send it back and remember you don't have to order from her anymore.

    I'm happy you got through to her twin... hopefully you will actually like her work in person.. if not.. I agree with the PP to send it back and ask for (aka DEMAND), a refund...lol

    For sure.  I just responded to her via Etsy and then I sent the same response directly to her email address just to make sure she got it.  She responded right back and said we are good to go now and thanks for my understanding.  I told her I'd cancel the claim ONCE I received the item.  Shoot, she has you guys to thank for the order becase I was about to be at the end of my rope with this girl.

    Also stay clear of burlapbabe- I'm having communication and delivery issues with her as well.  From her customer reviews, I now see that other customers have had the same issues as me.  Always read Etsy sellers reviews before ordering.  I had to learn the hard way....

    Sophia, I'm so glad she finally decided to contact you.  Her business methods suck though!  I hope she sticks to her word and sends your hanger soon :)

    All of this, and the nerve of her trying to put the guilt trip on you, when SHE dropped the ball!  Lady just mail the freakin hanger, cuz if she was really on her grind b/c Etsy is her only income, she would value great customer service and you would have your hanger by now... Okay I'm done being harsh, lol.

    I almost went with burlapbabe too.  My seller was NoviaArtesana and unless someone wants to cause themselves unnecessary stress, STEER CLEAR OF HER!!!

    Girl that's not harsh, you speakin the truth.  This was really ridiculous and out of all the sellers I've dealt with, I've had nothing but a good experience.  The lady that made my jewelry did such good job of making everything and it was my fault that the bracelet was too small since I told her I have small wrists and needed a small size.  It ended up being a little smaller then I expected and she told me to send it right back and she'd lengthen with no problem.  This girl with the hanger on the other hand, has the worst customer service I've ever seen.

    Glad she got back to you hun. But I'm not understanding why she would give that excuse...did she only update her "new" email address with etsy? Cuz as soon as there was a claim she became accessible and I'm pretty sure it was from the same email address that Etsy & Paypal contacted her that you've been using all along.... What a loser!

    Exactly.  That's why I'm thinking the whole thing is sketchy.  When I say she responded in 10 seconds after the claim was opened, I literally mean 10 seconds.  My blackberry got an email notification and i thought it was just Etsy/Pay Pal sending my a confirmation of the claim (which they did) but it was her emailing me with her long drawn out excuses.  And speak of the devil, I just checked and its shipped.  Its about time!
