Reusable Bags for Welcome Bags

We are giving our guests welcome bags in lieu of favors. Both of my sisters did this, one used paper gift bags, the other's mother-in-law sewed shoe bags. We would like to use a reusable, custom printed bag. There are SO many websites out there, I don't know where to start. We don't have a ton of money to spend. Does anyone have any suggestions? Someplace they have used? THANK YOU!

Re: Reusable Bags for Welcome Bags

  • I got mine on Ebay.  I searched "beach bag lot" and paid $2 each.  The hotel gift shop was selling the same bags for $25!!!
  • I got my from Kane Home industries (PIB).  I originially wanted to do custom ones too, but then I found these (for $1 each) and loved them so much, I figured I'd save myself the hassle.  Good Luck!
  • We did welcome backs instead of favors as well. But I didn't get custom printed bags, I got the reusable bags from OTC and they worked out perfectly! Everyone loved them!
  • We are doing both...  But the welcome bags are the plain canvas bags from Michaels/JoAnns that I painted a "tropical" design on with fabric paint (and a stencil).  I think they turned out pretty well...

Obviously, they will be filled with goodies...

  • We got reusable ones from Oriental Trading Company..I think I got a dozen for $10. Obviously they aren't the highest quality, but I think they will work well as beach bags/grocery bags.
  • I am doing welcome bags and I am using palm leaf bas that I got from www.favorsandflowers.com.  The photo is from the website, not my actual bags.

  • Our wedding isn't beach themed so I'm looking for actual reusable shopping bags in solid colors.  To be honest, after your wedding weekend, nobody is going to really want a bag with your name & date on it so I'd skip the personalization, or personalize each one with your guest's name instead.
  • I totally agree with PP, I had originally wanted to personalized ones too but thought about the same thing.  Since we live on an island and many guests live in florida where there are beaches too, I went with the palm leaf ones figureing they would be good beach bags.  I searched for canvas ones but just couldn't find any I liked.  But I agree, check Ebay, the one I found that I really liked I couldn't get because she only had 3 left, but definitely check ebay out.
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I am not putting out wedding date, just the town name. I want to give people something they will use afterwards. Something to remember the weekend by.
  • We are also doing bags and because of the beach wedding, really wanted a bag that could be used as a beach bag or a cooler. My mom found these GREAT, decent quality canvas tote bags in all different colors & patterns at The Christmas Tree Shop for like $2.00 each. The best part is that they are insulated so they can be used either way!
We are not doing anything to personalize them. She found really cute, various tropical cup/can holders there too that we are including!
  • I'm really struggling with the welcome bag too. Our wedding is in Italy and a lot of our guests have told us they're going over before the wedding to go sight-seeing, not staying after like I'd thought everyone would. So I'm not even sure what I'm going to put in (my first idea of jet-lag remedy and guide books don't apply) or what to put everything in. An inexpensive basket? A tote?

I am having a small bouquet of flowers delivered to each room when the guests arrive, so I may end up skipping the bag and just having a small gift and some bottles of water waiting in each guest's room.
