Hi all-
We're doing something different- not for everyone, but then again, we're a different sort of couple. The invitation will include a DVD. No, it's not cheesy photos or a film of us, but it ties into other aspects. Whatever, the offbeat idea isn't the point.
The point is, the company we found- and I do like them and their prices otherwise- doesn't provide a full on proof. Just a PDF. Like to where I said "Well, theoretically, how much would one be?" and they were just like they don't do it. I'm reading consistently to always get a proof of your invitation first. Yet might this type of invite be an exception? FI is a musician and says even for his CD covers he didn't get a full proof because the cost lies in setting up the printer, etc., not the goods themselves. Then I got to wondering, isn't that the same deal with a straight-up paper type thing?
Is the whole "get a full proof and if they won't provide one, run don't walk" sentiment legit and it's really a deal, or is that just wedding industry talk? Sometimes it's difficult to discern when wedding sites are giving good pointers and when it's just- I don't know- over the top. Any reason a PDF wouldn't suffice? Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone didn't get a full proof and lived to tell/has any disaster or success stories on this- and we can just drop the issue- or if we should give up on this company and invest the time in continuing to email other companies. Thanks.
