AW- Hair trial.

I had my hair trial yesterday.  I love the way the back turned out, especially with my veil.  I am not sure if I like the front just as it is.  I think the girl who did my makeup did a terrible job and will be asking that someone else do it on the day of.  She used BLACK eyeshadow and it made me look like I have no eyes.

Re: AW- Hair trial.

  • Your hair looks great and I think the front looks very pretty as is.

I agree about the make-up though. I think the colors she chose made your eyes look smaller. Plus, you're probably going to cry at least a little and black eye make-up is the worst thing ever for crying.

  • I love it. But,I agree I feel like the front needs a little lift.

Black eyeshadow for your wedding day?  Odd, yeah another MUA is in order.

  • It's very pretty but I also agree that the front could use a bit more volume. I would also have them use a brown eyeshadow or something less intense then black. I can't tell from the picture what colour your eyes are.

  • I think having less volume in front balances out the style.

    That makes sense.

  • I brought some pictures of braids down the side and wanted to incorporate that but the stylist said she thought that was too casual of a style.

<div>This tells me two things.  1) she's not keeping up with bridal fashion, braids are way popular right now and 2) she's imposing her thoughts on style on you, which she shouldn't do.  If she'd said your hair wouldn't work that way, it'd be a different thing, but just because she doesn't like it? Shouldn't matter.</div><div>

That's what I think. Since the style of the back is bigger, I think the front should not go big too.

<div>All of this.  It's one thing if it's physically impossible to make your hair do something.  But if that's not the issue, you should have the final say in what you.  The hairstylists personal preference should have no bearing in it.  </div><div>
</div><div>And I agree that a new MUA is in order.  Or, if you like the application of the makeup but just not the colors, maybe you could use her but give specific instructions as to what colors you want/don't want? I don't know if I'd be willing to risk that though, personally. </div>

Her response was that the braid would make the bulk of the hair be down farther on my head. I wanted my veil underneath and so her answer was that she felt it was two different hair styles. I don't know how to tell if I'll like it without another trial, but it's a three hour drive. I also don't want to insist on it on the wedding day and then hate it.

This also. It's not her decision to make if something is too casual.

  • I think you should do a little more in the front. From that front picture, it just looks like your hair is in a ponytail.  Even adding a braid like you said would help make it look less... day-to-day. I love the back!

I agree with you and everyone else. Black eyeshadow is a bad idea for crying ;)

My only comment is I would be concerned about that bit in the back that looks like its falling out. Make sure that doesnt happena gain.

My MIL kind of pulled that piece out to see how it would look "over the veil".

I have really blue eyes. I didn't really like the application of the foundation or anything. I'm actually breaking out badly today. Maybe a coincidence but I doubt it.

My regular stylist is where I'm from but we are having an OOT wedding so this was a new person.
