Creative DIY Programs?

I have Office Publisher on my computer, but no matter what I try I can't figure out how to create cute, professional looking designs for my save the dates!  I keep thinking there must be some magical program out there, but alas!  I think I am just missing that creative flourish.

For any DIY-ers out there, do you mind sharing your save the date or invitation designs?  I could use a bout of inspiration right about now....

    Oh, I also am curious if anyone knows where you can find cool fonts for STDs and invitations.  I sampled every font available through Office and most were just a little lackluster for what I had in mind.  I'd be interested how I could find fonts like this one for example

    That was our STD. Designed by me with publisher. Printed by vistaprint on magnets.

    dafont.com has free fonts.

    I don't know much about your wedding. But one thing I did was a google image sure for "beach wedding save the dates" .......maybe you could try, "green save the dates" or whatever color or theme you are going for. This gave me tons of inspiration!

    Another idea is to look through knottie bios.....especially go to the DIY board and look through the knottie bios over there.

    I put together our STD magnet using Publisher and then designed the whole STD postcard using the advanced options on Vistaprint.  For invites/programs I used box kits from Michaels but then added my own twist to them.  See pics in my bio under "paper".
