Wedding DJ and Bartending!!

Good Morning All!

For the last couple months I've been searching for a Wedding Dj and bartending service. I've found a few but they are either way to high for my budget or just haven't caught my eye. The Dj to me is more important since I want the "entertainment" to be great and to keep people on the dance floor all night. I've put a post in the Music section of the forums but didn't have many hits for help as well as the Local forum for my area.

If anyone knows of any Wedding Dj's and bartending services that are personable, can keep the guests entertained and on their feet and can just keep the party going basically in the Columbia, Maryland area can you let me know? It'd be a great help! I know I still got a little while before making sure I have all my vendors booked but these are the only two vendors left to book!

Thanks for the help!!

Re: Wedding DJ and Bartending!!

  • You should post this on your local board (over to the left).

I am from the Baltimore area but I wouldn't recommend my DJ...he was fine but not amazing.  And our venue already had bartenders so I didn't need to worry about that.

  • I have already posted it on my local board a while ago and didn't get very many hits/help with it. I'll try it again though. Thanks.

A few friends of mine that just know a couple of Dj's have helped me out but when I got into contact with them most of their prices were too high. If it comes down to it I'll pay the extra if I have no other choice but if I can save a few hundred dollars than why not?! If they weren't to high I just never got a response back from the person.

Yupp I've done that too, lol. that's how I got those few Dj's the first time. Hmm I guess I'll just have to keep looking until I find "the one".
  • Another hint--Where are you getting married? I asked the coordinator at my venue which DJs they have seen do a great job, and they gave me several great recommendations. It's especially reassuring because that way you know your DJ has worked there before, therefore the logistics are taken care of and your DJ can just focus on your event.

Disregard this advice if your wedding isn't at a typical venue. :)

  • Who have you contacted so far in regards to your DJ?  And what is your budget?

  • I got many of my reccommendationsn from other vendors.  My florist recommended my DJ - and he is great!

Take a few minutes to call some of your vendors you've already booked to see if they have any suggestions.

  • For bartenders, you could ask a local restaurant or bar if any of their bartenders do that on the side. That way, they have been through some training and will be able to handle what comes up. We had two bartenders from a local brew pub bartend for us and they thought of things I hadn't thought of and handled everything without us noticing.
