UGH I HATE THIS. Long! (vent)

I can NOT stand my boss.. My boss is NEVER on time.  She shows up when she wants too, then disapears for 3 or 4 hours. We open at 8 every day M-F. She gets here no earlier than 11 and leaves for lunch at 12. Sometimes I dont even get to take a lunch until 2 or 3 because she isnt back.  I have to close the store down so I can go to class because she isnt back or wont answer her phone.!

She doesnt know ANYTHING about how to run the store. Ive been here longer than her and she keeps asking me how to do stuff.  Then when I try to tell her she is like ill do it this way. THen the Regional manager gets mad.. I work 24/7 and dont get paid sh*t!! I am so sick of this job.. Now that school is out I will off of work for like 2 or 3 weeks (without a paycheck).  I cant keep doing this. When I leave she will be screwed because no one else here knows how to do everything I know.  I have been here almost 2 years and no raise.  I am looking for a new job next week. I dont care anymore how screwed she is going to be.

Sorry yall I am just SO MAD at her.

If yall cant tell everything seems to be bugging me this week. sorry about that.  I just feel like so much is going on and no help. So i have to help myself.

  • The Regional Manager gets mad at you?  Is the Regional Manager your boss or your boss' boss?  Just looking for clarification.  Have you tried speaking with the Regional Manager about your boss?  S/he may not fully understand how your boss is not pulling their weight.  I don't know why your Regional Manager would get mad at you, if you are doing your job correctly and your boss is not.  Do you have an HR department at the corporate level, since it seems you work for a chain.  Try talking to them about the problem with your boss.

Sorry to hear that!! I know I don't LOVE my job but it pays the bills, gets me experience, and will have to do for now.  Re: the raise.. have you asked for one?  It was the hardest thing to do, but when I was working as an office assistant in high school at a local engineering firm, after a little over a year, I got up the courage to ask about a raise.  I basically said that since I had been there for (x time) and was familiar with everything and doing more advanced tasks, I felt I deserved a raise.  It's SOOO hard to do but it was worth it. They ended up giving it to me and prorating it for that whole summer!  As much as you may be afraid that they'll say no, at least you'll know you tried.  Just a thought.. but hang in there!! The extra money will be great for the wedding and afterwards!!

  • OliveOilsMom: sorry I was rambeling on so much. The regional manager gets mad because nothing is done the right way. I tried to tell her how to do it. My boss blames everything thats going wrong on me and my other co workers.  So she gets mad at us for my boss not doing right.

cmac: ive asked for a raise and my boss says "If anyone desirves a raise it should be me".. Im like are you kidding me.  Ive asked several times. I am just going to find another job.
