Good morning!

Happy Monday!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mine was decent.  Got to see a really good friend on Saturday and got a lot done in the condo this weekend.

I'm sitting at work, drinking my coffee and trying to wake up!

Re: Good morning!

  • Ours was good and while we didn't have a whole lot planned, it still seemed kind of busy.

And it's freaking monday today. I HATE mondays.

Me too, I'm a Monday hater.  I'm just trying to embrace it because it seems like no matter what happens, Monday always comes.  ;)

    You guys staying dry?
  • Morning! Someone forgot to remind Mother Nature that it is officially Spring, and GA is NOT supposed to get snow now. Had to drive through snow flurries to get to work this morning. Wheee!

How does your week look, ladies? I start house sitting for my parents Wednesday, so that always adds a little chaos to my life. It never fails that the particular clothes I want to wear to work are at home.
  • Ciao ciao belle!  H made it home last night.  WOOT!!  He was super sweet and brought me a pretty little silk purse and some funny toe socks.  I have a feeling they may not fit my ginormous feet though. lol
  • Good morning!  I had a good weekend, and I got to meet Squirrly and her FI yesterday!  Unfortunately I completely forgot to get him to take a picture of me and her.  : (  But it was really fun meeting them!

It'll probably be a busy week for me in the evenings but not so much at work this week.

  • Amoro, I'm so glad he made it home. Too funny about the toe socks.

My parents will be in your hemisphere this week. They are going to visit my sister, and the first week they are renting a villa in the south of France. I get to house sit their incontinent dogs. Jealous? Who, me?
  • Aww. :(  Well, you can make THEM uber jealous by um... doing... stuff....? It'll be better someday, promise. :)

Oh, I forgot to tell the story of WHY his plane was so delayed in Tokyo.  It was arriving from Germany, and apparently, right after it took off, a bunch of Japanese passengers got sick, so they had to turn around, take them off the plane and then leave again.  He made it to his flight leaving Germany because it was delayed a few minutes.  Then they sat on the tarmac for an hour because of mechanical issues.  Geez.  That's what I call a miserable travel "day"
  • Morning! I'm feeling pretty great, because my weekend getaway to Gettysburg really recharged my batteries, and I got a lot of work done. Plus, I only have to get through the next three days, because on Wednesday night I fly out to see FI, and then next week I'll have spring break, and I'm borrowing my cousin's beach house! After this weekend, I feel more hopeful than I have in a while.

Lovethebeach, funny to think you were walking around my town this weekend. :) Where did you eat lunch?

  • Good morning !!!

Today is my day off.  Unfortunately my DH picked up my sick germs and is home sick from work today.  I do not mind taking care of him, but I was looking forward to having some time off by myself.

Fishce - I just heard that Fargo is making out pretty okay all things considering.  Do you feel the same way?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Sarabellam, WOOT, for villas in the south of France.  Do you know where they'll be?  The weather here is sometimes awesome and sometimes eww right now.  It tries to lure you into wearing shorts, but then the winds blows with a "gotcha!".

  • YES YES! We crested this weekend, and now it's going down! It didn't even quite reach as high as they thought it was going to! As long as the dikes hold, we'll be free and clear! WOOT!

Most people were just out taking pictures of the water yesterday in the super awesome weather.

[QUOTE]Sarah - we went to Cosi. It was so good! I had something called a chicken T.B.M and it was great.

That's my new favorite sandwich there! So yummy.

Fischey, so glad to hear that everything is turning out okay for you guys.

  • I used to go to Lux in the Galleria (across from Kildare's), but they closed it. And lately, I really haven't been getting my hair cut or styled all that often... and I got my last few haircuts on trips to Milwaukee. Sorry I can't be more help. Embarassed

  • aMrs, I'm not sure exactly where they are staying, but it's not too far from the Med. I've not kept up with the details as much as I could. It just seemed too cruel to taunt myself like that. I am sending a bag of Reester bunnies to my sister. She may live in arguably the world's capital of delicious chocolate, but she still crave Resses at Easter.

  • lovethebeach - when I lived in Newark, I went to Wilmington to get my hair cut.  Sherif Zaki Salon.  Expensive, but worth it to me.

Good morning everyone!  I had a great weekend, spent most of it outside which was nice :)  Had a white trash bbq at my dad's house Saturday night, I'll have to have FI e-mail me the pics of my brother jumping through the bonfire we had going in the front yard.  Klassy :)

  • Sarabellam, if you're still around you have a PM coming.

Oh how cute.  I just saw a PM I got from someone a few weeks ago.  She had sent out wedding announcements BEFORE the wedding.  We had all told her that sending them before hand was incorrect and people may construe them as actual invitiations.

She told me that " I am sending out announcements in an unconventional way, but that does not mean what I am doing is wrong or that any problems related to my unconventionality are my own fault."

I guess I hurt her feelings telling her that yes, she was in fact wrong.

Does anyone else feel like they are talking to walls sometimes?

  • Morning, all. It's another blah Monday here. We're less than two weeks away from our trip, so I'm in countdown mode. This weekend, we had our first church softball practice, and I'm officially the worst batter on the team, but sometime between now and then, my husband is going to pitch balls to me to hopefully help me improve so I won't be the Strikeout Queen come game time.

That part made me lol.  What does that even mean?  I'm not responsible if my own wierd choices confuse people?  Okaaay, then!

I've been biiitchy all weekend (sorry about that) and it continues today.  I'll probably try to stay away from the board because I'm just not nice these days.  A combination of factors, but I need to get a grip.  Hope everyone else's day is good!

    All. the. time.

ETA - got the PM and answered to the best of my ability
  • First day back at work since spring break, where I was sleeping in until 11. I'm so not awake.

  • Morning, ladies! This weekend was awesome! The weather was great and I got one on one time with my new nephew. He's a cutie. This week will be busy, as J's great aunt comes in town Wed, we find out when J's surgery is on Wed, Thurs is dinner out with  his family for my birthday and hopefully the cherry blossom festival on Sat. And the start of spring thunderstorms later today. I absolutely love thunderstorms.
  • That would freak me out, too, AC. Come to the burbs!
  • Yeah, it's crazy, I've been in the city for 10 years and never experienced this before. The 5-6 block radius around where I live, though, seems to have become a hotspot for crime. If we weren't leaving for BC in 4 months I'd definitely move out.
  • Good morning all! We had a great, if busy, weekend. We registered and had a blast but, damn, that is exhausting! We had beautiful warm spring weather, though, which was awesome. (Dude, my cat is trying to type for me. Heh.) I think it's cooling down a bit today, though. Le sigh.

  • AC, oh my god,  that is horrible.  Really horrible - I'd be completely freaked out.  Hope you're feeling better.

While most of the posters here are capable of making the board more fun when they're cranky, I tend to just make snap judgments and show my asss.  But thanks ;-)
