  Sounds too busy. The venue appears to have an "art deco" type look from your description.
  
  You might be better sticking with a simple winter theme (think blues and silvers) versus plaid and evergreen.

  Agree with PP, this all sounds a bit busy. And the Tiffany blue with black and white floors does sound art deco. If this is definitely your venue then a WHITE winter look with SILVER and/or GOLD accents would look best. 

  
  

  Against the blue walls, that would give you a blue sky background. Add in winter evergreens to the floral designs and that will tie in your green in a way that will not clash, because things from nature can always work. Just leave the green to the actual greenery and you'll be set.

  I think you can do this, but subtle would be the way to go.  I can picture the plaid in the colors you mentioned looking fine with the venue.  But to be honest, the tablescape you described sounds busy and not cohesive.  Don't worry about matching the paint color of the venue.  Something in the blue family would be fine.  Something like this (below).  You can still use your mason jars, though I don't think they go with the Scottish feel (more the American south).  Maybe lanterns instead?  There are many styles available and I'd bet you could find one that reminds you of Scotland.  Check them out <a href="http://www.koehlerhomedecor.com/wholesale-lanterns.html" target="_blank" title="here" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

  Also agree. If you must have plaid to tie in your love for Scotland then any green tartan can work and subtle ways would be best. Maybe use it for the ribbon on your favors or floral arrangements. Or feature it on your cake, or garter, or shoes even...

  
  

  Also, not sure of the mason jars and white washed shells. I would stick with simple candles and pine cones.

  that plaid that PP posted is great -- but I agree - stick with lanterns and then brass/silver/glass or black and white tones for the rest of the accents.  The plaid will be enough color and even compliment the walls well.
