Throughout my planning process I saw many posts regarding worries about ADS lighting and had my own concerns. Andy is very difficult to get a hold of, doesnt do contracts or deposits, and doesn't really want to deal with you until a few weeks before the wedding. Despite all of these negatives, my wedding venue coordinator continued to praise his work and tell me he was trustworthy.
Well, I got married last weekend (yay!) and I should've trusted my instincts. Andy was supposed to place 8 uplights onto the ceiling and 8 uplights around the walls so the entire room was lit in an amber glow. He was supposed to arrive at 11AM. At 1PM he wasn't there yet, so my wedding planner called him and he said he was just a few blocks away. 1:30, 2:00, 3:00-- no lights (must've been some long blocks). Finally at 4:30 (5.5 hrs late!!!) he showed up. Fortunately, my wedding planner took care of everything and didn't tell me about his tardiness until I had already walked down the aisle and everything was in place. I truly believe that if my wedding planner hadn't been calling him every half-hour he never would've shown up. Then to top it off, when I walked into the reception, there were no uplights on the walls. Just on the ceiling. (He probably didn't have time to finish). No one noticed except me, and we even got compliments on the lighting, but I knew it could've and should've been even better.
I want you to know that I'm not a complainer and every single other vendor we used went above and beyond my expectations and the day was absolutely amazing. I just don't want any other brides to have to deal with this crap and be stressed or disappointed at all on their wedding day.
